It’s been 20 years since I won my first Edda Awards for best cinematography for the film A Little Trip to Heaven. Since then, I’ve been lucky to receive a few more nominations and awards.

This year’s competition was incredibly strong. Eli did amazing work on Vigdís, and Besti on King and the Conqueror.

Thanks to Sammi and Gunni for bringing me onto Reykjavik Fusion. Watching them tackle their first scripted series with such ambition was inspiring.

It was a pleasure working with Act 4. Darri, Birkir, Hörður, Jónas, Elli, Eiði, and the whole team helped shape the series with care and focus. What Act 4 has achieved so early on is remarkable.

The cast was exceptional — Darri, Hera, Lára, Þröstur, Alexander, Atli, Gói, Mollý, Iðunn, Unnur, and Ísak all brought something special.

Huge thanks as well to Hjörtur Grétars, Víkingur, Vignir, and Viktoría.

I’m proud of how Fusion came together. Everyone shared the same ambition, and it shows on screen.

A series like this depends on an extraordinary crew. Cinematography, lighting, grip, production design, costume, and post all played a huge part.

Special thanks to Júlíana, Guðbjörg, Guðni and his team, Þráinn, Siggi Bahama and crew, Goði Már, Þór, Kári, Svanur Gabríel, Marina Starck, Veigar, Úlfur, and everyone else who helped bring the series to life.

And of course, thanks to Hosiló for the amazing food every day.

I’m surely forgetting many people, but thank you all for helping create something we’re truly proud of. This Edda belongs to all of you.

X — The Fusion Team
