Since the horrors persist and sometimes you just need to disassociate to make it thru the day. Here is some advice. Don't pass on fics.

@gwynrielorcan is one of the best writers around and her stuff is free on #ao3

Dream of surviving a fascist regime torturing their citizens? Search Vérzavar Ház, on archiveofourown.org, and watch Lidia dismantle that shit from the inside and realize why ICE doesn't have women unless they’ve terrorized them, chased them, and stolen them off the streets.

Cheers to surviving another day and thank you to sweet baby Jesus for writers like this!

Such a pleasure meeting both @lou.baudelaire and @vikingmagic33 in person! I’ve now met almost all my fanfic friends IRL. It’s always so surreal meeting internet pen pals in person and saying to each others faces all the things you’ve sent via dm and voice note. Till next time!

Go ahead. Meet your heroes. Sometimes it’ll be exactly what you hope it can be.

Sometimes you’ll get photobombed by the immaculate @victoriaavelineauthor and saved by the unparalleled empathy of @lucypkeenreads and graced by a shimmering @lou.baudelaire on a nearly perfect Day 2 of @fabledfantasyevents

I don't even know what to say today or how to feel. This time around, I'm mostly furious because this isn't our first rodeo with the clown. But I keep seeing posts from people that are like 'we should come together,' especially regarding family. Sorry, bucko, but no, you don't get to say that after yesterday.

Let me offer you some sage advice that took me years to realize: no one, and I mean NO ONE, is worth your mental health. No one who hurts you cares less about you is worth your time or energy. Life is too precious to waste on toxic people. I've learned to Marie Kondo the people in my life; if you don't bring me joy? You're gone. I don't care if they are parents, siblings, cousins, aunts, or in-laws. There's no excuse to torture yourself because of some sort of sense of guilted propriety. It's not f**king worth it. It's not worth *you.* Sometimes you have to take out the metaphorical trash for your sanity.

On that note, since 2020, I have made some absolutely amazing friends in the bookish/fanfic community. They are some of the most empathetic, funny, generous, and kind people I've ever met. I am also lucky that my immediate family is amazing, but these brilliant women are my found family—the family I chose to keep and support. My ride or dies and I will always, *always* go to bat for them.

Please remember that even if you have to distance yourself from some people, plenty of others care about you and your well-being. Please take care of yourself.

True story.
@vikingmagic33 and I first met in the comments section of her Gwynriel fanfic On My Radar. And the rest was epic.
You can read On My Radar and the rest of her fics for free on AO3.

So, today, some fool on #Ao3 decided to go into the comments for a fellow talented, prominent ACOTAR fanfic author to air their negative opinions and what they would change in the author's #fanfic because cAnOn. And then proceeded to argue with multiple people in the comments. Y'all, do f&cking better. This is FREE CONTENT and we can write what we want---no one is forcing you to read it and you're free to stop if you're not vibing with it. Also, go jump over to TikTok @holygnocchi and watch the eloquent video she made regarding fanfiction etiquette.

Realized I never posted this! I made this cute little art of Tisaanah and Max from the #waroflosthearts series by @carissabroadbentbooks to go with a oneshot fanfic I wrote for a Secret Santa. They’re so sweet and I love them 🥹
