Broadway will participate in the inaugural iteration of the London Invitational with a solo presentation by Victoria Roth.

Paris-born and New York City-based, Roth is an abstract painter of unique technical ability, and a commitment to complex, bodily compositions that radiate with a strange and fearsome energy.

Making her UK debut at the fair, Roth continues an ambitious program of pushing paint into a territory that combines varied, technically virtuosic paint-handling with disarming and otherworldly compositions. It is this friction between skill and strangeness that comprises this young painters distinctive voice.

Ostensibly abstract, the paintings alternately hint at interior viscera and the push and pull of entwined bodies in space. This dialectic, across the presentation as a whole, produces a world-building effect that draws in a viewer with its spacial logic and chromatic strategies.

Common Space opens today at my studio building curated by amazing artists @lindsay.m.burke @sofiquirno - I’ve been in the studio for 10 years, and it’s a magical place! I feel so honored to work alongside such a talented group of artists.

Today is the SECOND LAST Saturday to see the show @vikroth and I curated at @springsprojects! In honour of this, I am sharing some behind the scenes snapshots as a reminder of the blood, sweat and tears that go into putting together an art exhibition (just kidding, no tears). Many thanks to Tommy White who provided reliable and detail oriented install support. As @catalina_schliebener reminded us while we were installing: “it takes a village!”

Something quite magical happened this weekend. I was held by the sweetest audience and transformed. Together we went somewhere freer, realer, looser, lighter. Thank you so much for being there with me! And thank you @springsprojects @vikroth @triceradee for this lovely opportunity

And yes, there were puppets. And so much more. And performing simply never felt this good before.

“In Catalina Schliebener Muñoz’s world, bodily abstraction becomes an environment: their room-sized installation occupies the interior chamber of the exhibition like a pulsing lung. Cartoon gestures upend familiar tropes of children’s stories, and the over-layed spilling out of imagery and soft sculpture becomes both funny and discomforting.“

Our opening last night @minimalnyc_gallery was spectacular and you can feel it in these photos. 🖤 The group show in our beloved neighborhood of Bushwack is called Over and Under and participating artists are @angeldufuche @anedham @adrienne__elise @dreacofield @gmercedescf @genmacleay @i_meen_ah and myself. Special shout out to our DJ extraordinaire @juanitoferrer

The show is open ever day until June 14th, in the last slide you can see a video tour but these works are even more delectable in person so come visit. 🖤💖🌈🤝
