Blue micro moon set behind the World Trade Center

It was a rare blue micro moon. Luckily the moon came out of the clouds the last minute. Definitely worth getting up at 2am and driving to the NYC

It was very windy and hazy though. You can see it from the video.

Blue moon is not blue in color, it’s just the second full moon in a single month. Micro moon is just slightly smaller due to moon is at its far point in its elliptical orbit.

Moonrise behind the Fire island light house

Yesterday, it is a traditional Chinese festival called Lantern Festival. Which is the first full moon after the Chinese New Year.
The full moon rose behind the Fire Island Light House. Hope you guys enjoy the Timelapse and the behind the scenes video afterwards.

Wet City.

I was up late last night and went out to the bodega for cigarettes and on my way I noticed everything was bejeweled with fresh raindrops. So I went back out later and shot a bit. NYC always looks better wet to me. 💦✌😊

First full moon in 2026, known as Wolf Moon, is also a super moon. It is near its closest point to earth. The moon set about 30 min after the sunrise. Had to shoot closer to the buildings so the moon was still a bit high in the sky. As a result, it doesn’t look as big. However, a setting moon in morning glow did look great!
