This week’s #whywednesday is with our Partnership Chair, @vilpham !!!

“I joined dance marathon because I wanted to be more involved on campus, and resonated with dance marathons purpose and philanthropy the most. Dance marathon is especially important to me because of my personal experience growing up dealing with difficult health conditions. To me, it’s an organization that’s provides me an outlet to give back and make an impact, as I know first hand how a little act of kindness goes a long way. For these kids, they are going through something unimaginable and it makes all the difference to show them that there are people out there, that even if they haven’t met directly, are putting in the resources and effort to show them they care and recognize how unfair it is to have their childhoods and experiences robbed from them. And it doesn’t stop at helping just the kids. Organizations like dance marathon help to provide support for parents too, which have helped my own parents in the past and is something I am forever appreciative for. What I love about Rady’s is their commitment to never turning down a kid no matter circumstance. All the money we raise goes to equipments, toys, and procedures that aren’t being covered. It is incredibly moving to be surrounded by so many individuals that put in so much of their time towards such a kind and good cause. And I’m incredibly grateful to work along side such individuals in dance marathon. I believe if you have the resources and ability to, that it’s important to be involved even if it may seem small, every share or donation helps. In addition, I do nails on the side and will be doing a fundraiser push next semester where I dedicate all tips to dance marathon as way to help others be involved and make a difference!”
