Edmonton Dance Community - this one’s for you! 💃🏻

Three reasons you should come see @viva_dance_company perform at the Edmonton Fringe

🌟1. I think it is so important for dancers to see dance outside of dance competitions. It’s so different when the focus isn’t winning or comparing. We are dancing for expression, art, and the love of movement. It’s so different and something young dancers should be exposed to.

🌟2. I want dancers to see that you can be a dancer while also being other things. Viva is made of people who are dancers but also teachers, healthcare workers, restaurant workers, mothers, and countless other things. Dance doesn’t have to be all or nothing when you graduate.

🌟3. Show Edmonton that we value dance and that it has an important role in our city’s art and culture. Funding for arts programs and dance programs specifically are being cut more and more. Show up, and show that our community values dance!

I would hope to see you in our audience this year! Here is show information and tickets can be purchased using the link in my bio!

Fri Aug.14 - 10 pm
Sat Aug.15 - 1:45 pm & 6:15 pm
Sun Aug.16 - 1:30 pm
Tue Aug.18 - 9:00 pm
Fri Aug.21 - 7:00 pm
Sat Aug.22 - 3:00 pm & 7:30 pm
Sun Aug.23 - 1:30 pm

All shows at The Roxy - 10708 124th street

If you’re unable to attend but wish to show your support, please reach out. You can purchase a ticket to be given to someone who would enjoy the show but can’t afford to attend.

Meet Kate!

She is one of the amazing Physiotherapists and Clinical Pilates instructors at Pivotal’s High Performance Centre. A lifelong dancer, she began training at just five years old and went on to earn a diploma in contemporary dance in Toronto. After a serious knee injury during her final year of dance school, she experienced the rehabilitation journey firsthand, inspiring her to pursue a career in physiotherapy.

Her background in dance gives her a unique understanding of movement, body mechanics, and the physical demands dancers face. She combines that knowledge with her passion for rehabilitation and cross-training to help dancers and athletes recover, perform at their best, and achieve their goals.

Outside the clinic, you’ll often find her dancing, staying active, and continuing to share her love of movement through clinical Pilates and the dance community!
