Long Form // My girl here just wants that mirror glass glow 🧊 I used @tuttohaircolor 1.10 + 7volume on her roots and @redkenpro @eqgloss @shades_eq 40ml2M + 20ml2ABn on her ends. I think it’s hugely important to get a full hair history before just constantly slapping gloss on top of gloss to increase the dye load in the hair. I want her hair to feel silky, light, and airy after an appointment so I decided to use a separate formula for her roots and ends (and didn’t overlap). I also chose to not put 1.0 in her formula also because ultimately she wants to truly see that *blue* and over time 1.0 will fade brassy. I try and transition all my clients over to formulations that won’t make my job more difficult in the future to undo. If she wants to change her color but I’ve been just throwing pigment on top of pigment like - WHY? Take the time. You’ll thank yourself later 🖤🌬️#bostonhair #boston #bostonhairsalon #bostonhairstylist #blueblackhair

COLOR CORRECTIONS 🚨 ‼️ They don’t have to be **Perfect** walking out the door. Did I want to stay all night and make her perfect? Yes. Yes I definitely did. Sometimes we can’t do that and sometimes we just have to give them a band aid to ease their stress RIGHT NOW. Through proper communication and detailed understanding we can find a solution to any situation. I inserted The 4 Agreements as a constant reminder and the goals I strive for in a consultation (and life in general) Final results (for now)
Since expectations were set realistically, with budget & time in mind, and the integrity of her hair being my biggest priority - it’s okay to take a color correction in baby steps. It doesn’t (and probably shouldn’t) have to be done in one session. We’ll have a follow up foiling session to blend and target our goals in a more refined way. #hairstylist #bostonhairstylist #collegestudentproblems #colorcorrection #colorcorrectionspecialist

Last minute emergency box dye color correction! This young lady called yesterday frantic about a big oops she was experiencing after trying to go lighter using permanent color. Then she did a color remover. Then she did another box of dye 🥹🤓 With plans to leave for Florida by the end of this week I said “girl come in (at 5:15pm) and we’ll see what we can do”. This was a young girl, not seeking perfection but normality. I asked her budget (under $300) and how much time she had then calculated what was realistic and achievable to get her in a balanced place for her vacation. The blowdry isn’t perfect because we finished at like 9pm and just wanted to see the results - but she was educated on the rules of hair color and we also booked a follow up appointment for before she graduates in a few weeks to let her hair settle down and then we can go in and add more natural dimension around the face and check out any other tweaks that might be necessary. #colorcorrection #colorcorrectionspecialist #bostonhair #boston #bostonhairsalon @vinndiosalon
