I survived my birthday season + Filipino-American History Month (+ bleached eyebrows) ! Sharing some creative highlights as I got to put on all my hats as musician, filmmaker, DJ, and community advocate. Above all, I’m most grateful to witness and be part of building community power. I think of the worker who faces exploitation on the job, the migrant who is forced to leave their home country because of bad neoliberal policies trickling down to their conditions of seeking work overseas, the child who doesn’t see their parents often, the mother who is at risk of being displaced from her indigenous land, and the children whose childhood is lost due to imperial wars. The list goes on and that’s why we organize and fight 🥲 Grateful for this life and the people I get to cross paths with.

Highlights include: Three film festivals (winning Best Documentary at @charlotteasianfilmfestival !), raising $3K for @malayalosangeles with @queer.liberasian and @_januarrrry , raising funds for @filipinomigrantcenter at their gala and @abosvgs art show , jamming/playing with amazing people and my real life Yoda-like figure @rogervst
