“I always wanted to go to India, but I didn’t feel the call.”

Steffi joined us for Expedition 001 with an open mind, and came away with a deeper understanding of herself and a beautiful reminder of our shared humanity… how different we are and yet how connected we can be.

@steffigd it was such a pleasure having you as part of the expedition. ❤️ Thank you for being open to the journey and for sharing your experience with us. It wouldn’t have been the same without you.

We’re currently prepping for Expedition 002 in January and a couple spots are left.

Washed by the rivers of sound.

Join us for a three-hour immersion where the ancient roots of yoga meet the calming energy of yin. Amplifying this offering is a cross cultural collection of talented devotional musicians.

Simon will guide you through an extended yin yoga practice — long, slow holds that invite the being inwards.

Weaving Karakia, Toanga Pūoro, handpan, flute, guitar and vocals... this will be more like an introspective concert exploring the conversation of 'non-duality' beyond borders and cultures.

This is a space that holds you. Where the body unwinds, the nervous system settles, and something quieter in you gets to speak. We work with sound, stillness, intuition and the deeper layers of Self.

Limited spaces.

Please bring a yoga mat, water, comfortable warm clothes, a thin blanket and an open heart.

Warming liquid gold will be served by @motherindia.care to help ground after the practice.

Casual Healing returns to Tamaki Makaurau (AKL) on 7 November for a night of music at the Button Factory, but this one is a little different.

Alongside the music, Nikau will be sharing more of the journey behind it: a season of mahi, change, heartbreak and healing. A raw and honest presentation from an artist of great vulnerability.

At the heart of Casual Healing has always been a belief that music can bring us together. This kaupapa is bigger than one musician. It’s about supporting music that carries a higher message. Supporting the time to listen, innerstand and create. Supporting the space for meaningful work to grow.

So we’re reaching out to the community to help carry the Healing forwards. Come and share in this collective moment.

“The highest form of intelligence is the ability to observe without evaluating.”

Something to sit with.

Not just to see a different world, but to question the one you know.

In Varanasi, we step into a world of chaos, contradiction and ancient traditions. We also spend time looking at J. Krishnamurti’s enquiries which challenge us to question everything we think we know.

In Rishikesh, we make space to slow down, practice and engage with the traditions of yoga and meditation.

In Tiruvannamalai, we encounter the teachings of Ramana Maharshi and the fundamental question at the heart of this expedition: *Who am I?*

Three places. Different experiences. An invitation to look more closely at ourselves and the world around us.

Not a search for ready made answers, but an opportunity to explore the questions that matter.

“India” is more than a name of a country and a place.

The tribe. One whiteboard. Two hours on Ayurveda. 💛

Our very first official Mother India Community gathering, with our brother from another mother, Simon Lee @simonleeyoga

Five elements, three doshas, the gunas, and real tools everyone could take home and use for themselves and their families.

Floor cushions, scribbled notes, and Liquid Gold on tap all night.

Thirty strangers walked in. They won’t be strangers at the next one.

Gathering No. 002 is Saturday 7 November 👀

We can’t tell you who yet.

All we’ll say is he’s our favourite artist right now, and he’s in the business of healing too.

He just does it with music. Guesses welcome. We won’t confirm. We might wink. 😉

Aroha to @thebuttonfactorynz for holding the space, and to everyone who came.

Soil to Soul 💛

Three destinations. One expedition.

We didn’t choose these places at random.

Each one plays a different role in the journey… from arriving and encountering India, to slowing down, reflecting, and eventually going deeper into the question at the heart of the expedition:

**Who am I really?**

Three destinations. Three different experiences. One journey inward.

**Why India?**

India represents something much larger than geography.

It represents a question humanity has explored for a very long time:

**Who am I?**

And what is my relationship to all of life?

India gives us an opportunity to explore that question not just through information, but through immersion.
