Sophia Tech is a Brooklyn-based designer behind SAMIKA Studios, whose debut collection Apsara reinterprets Cambodian identity through the celestial Apsara and Devata figures carved into Angkor Wat. Blending American streetwear with traditional Cambodian textiles, motifs, and dance references, Tech built the collection as an interchangeable wardrobe: pieces meant to be layered and restyled to reflect each wearer's own identity. Luxurious and everyday fabrics sit side by side, letting the garments move between elevated occasions and daily life. For Tech, a Cambodian American designer, clothing is only one part of how culture is experienced, so the campaign centers on the ritual of sharing a meal, treating food as a living form of cultural preservation alongside fashion, music, and art. Though deeply personal, the imagery follows the same garments across different people and perspectives, circling back to a table where friends gather, a reminder that everyday rituals, however small, are what preserve culture and build community. At its core, SAMIKA is a love letter to community.

Beach day and mountain of clams

It was my first time back in the beach in 2 years. If you count last year where I fell into the beach in Brighton then it’s been 1 year. Anyways, we all arrived and built sandwiches before scattering ourselves into the waves where i unfortunately lost my glasses. Some will say it was an offering to the sea, or me leaving a piece of myself to the ocean, or I am just a filthy ocean polluter. Nonetheless I am without glasses but we in turn devoured clam, does that make it of equivalent exchange then?
