POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

This Saturday! Doing something a little different with Dave Escamilla & Friends - the magnanimous Andy Leonard @aaaaaaannnndddyyyyyyyy on bass, pocket machine Vinny Werneck @vinnywrk on drums, and keyboard extraordinaire Meg Sita will be performing as part of this all star lineup to bring the funk, grooves and jams! I consider myself very blessed to put on a show with these talented folks!

Really looking forward to seeing you at @jesterkingbrewery Saturday 10/10 5-8pm!!

Want to know how I got into Super 8?

My best friend @julianaviveros and I always raved over 8mm wedding films together so when @vinnywrk told me he was about to pop the question, I knew we had to make an engagement film of her own come to life. A few Google searches later, I found a perfect Canon 310XL just within my budget on Etsy. I figured if I’m getting one, I’ll have everyone’s happiest day of their lives be the first reel on it. And here we are!

It was a beautiful day surrounded by so many friends, old and new, and plenty of love in the air. Feeling lucky to have been able to capture this for my chosen family :-) I love them both dearly.

this is definitely not the post I was expecting to write, but glass orange will be going on an indefinite hiatus.

we're all doing a lot right now, and it's best that we put this on the back burner for some time!

i'm hoping that this isn't forever, but thank you all so much for all the support you've shown us (and me) over the years.

glass orange started in 2018, and during those years i've been able to play shirley's at @grampswynwood, @thegroundmiami, @churchills_pub (multiple times), @lasrosasmiami, 152, @showfields in miami beach. the list goes on.

i got to work with such amazing artists (@junetiquette, @nicolejstephens, @howdysteph_, @kat.deba) and I think most of their photos and videos are here, i'll probably share more memories later too.

this project started off with me (melanie) a solo musician with an electric acoustic, but i've been able to surround myself with some of the best musicians i've had the pleasure to make music with.

shout out to @1stwrld for getting me back in the saddle in 2020 and helping me produce feel and petals two of my favourite songs i've ever written, and played.

glass orange may come back, maybe it won't, maybe it'll be something entirely new, but for now we're closing this chapter.

@nestjrig is in @grim_hill & @swivvel_
@_antrunner is in @dimefl_ @bloomdreamband & @suztypebeat's live band
@carlitos_dea is in @dimefl_ and @suztypebeat's live band (he also records, mixes and masters music 👀)
thank you for all the opportunities <3 i'm really gonna miss this. keep streaming the music! it will never go away.

scroll for some fun memories (there are plenty more but this is what i could find for now).

if you're interested in any merch, let me know. I'll sell a bundle of everything for $12 which will include what i have left of shirts, stickers, buttons, you name it.

thank you guys. i hope to see you soon!
