Testwine score : 8 stars ⭐️⭐️ 🇫🇷 ❤️🍷château du Moulin-à-vent. La Rochelle 2016. It’s the domain’s star ‼️my friends 😎. Very nice wine which can stay in the cellar for a long time 👍. This domain is located in the heart of this prestigious Moulin-à-vent ( Beaujolais ) appellation, 200 meters behind the windmill dating from the 15th century and classified as an historical monument. A great treat for a wine which comes from a 4.2 hectare plot facing south in the wind corridors 🌪. Forget the « Beaujolais nouveau » and run to taste this top quality Beaujolais wine, you will be surprised 😉👍. The top Beaujolais wines are coming back 👌💪 @chateaudumoulinavent .

👃A rather expressive nose on red fruits( cherry - raspberry ) notes. Spices hints.

👅 A medium bodied wine. Nice length, density and balance. It’s fruity with complexity. good minerality ( nice for the cellar 😉 ). Tannins are fine and velvety. Interesting finish.

The vineyard of Château du Moulin-à-Vent is composed of more than 120 plots, spread around the Château, the windmill and the hamlet of 'Les Thorins'. It consists of 30 hectares (75 acres) of vines, exclusively on the Moulin-à-Vent appellation. 'Le Champ de Cour', 'Les Thorins', 'Les Vérillats' and 'La Rochelle' are only parts of the Grand Crus that make up the exceptional heritage of the domain. Parinet family and Brice Laffond, technical director of the domain, nourish the ambition to produce pure, long-lasting wines, which are true reflections of their original terroirs.
Viticulture is organically managed, with a natural soil amendment and absolutely zero use of insecticides. This domain has been bought in 2009 by Jean-Jacques Parinet and his son Edouard. They give a very nice dynamic to the domain‼️😉

Sunday funday! Actually, Sunday lawn work day! Daughter and I finished our small box garden project. Took full advantage of the beautiful weather. Thank you, Mother Nature. 🌹 ——— Now enjoying the evening these two refreshing rosés - @barboursville ‘18 Allegrante (Petit Syrah & Nebbiolo) and ‘17 Horse & Plow (Carignane, Grenache). The Allegrante is named for a thoroughbred horse purchased by acquired by Senator Henry Clay in 1835 from Governor James Barbour. Like summer in a glass.
Horse & Plow is one of those wineries always at the top of ‘must try’ list from friends in California. Made from some of the oldest, organic vineyards in CA. More robust with loads of ripe strawberry and orange peel.
