We curated our first vineyard focused tasting, exploring Beckstoffer George’s III through the lens of multiple winemakers and a single vintage.

It was a fascinating reminder of how much influence a winemaker still has, even when everyone starts with fruit from the same site.

The 2022 vintage is drinking beautifully right now. Approachable, expressive, and ready for the corks to be pulled.

Lineup:

• 2012 Rare Champagne
• 2022 Brilliant Mistakes
• 2022 Gregory James
• 2022 Gagnon-Kennedy
• 2022 Grape Culture

Special Pour

• 2014 Fairchild

Safe to say this won’t be our last vineyard focused tasting. We’re already thinking about what comes next.

Rochioli? Vine Hill Ranch? Seven Springs? Bien Nacido? Or is there another vineyard that deserves a spot?

Every year, the Napa birthday dinner seems to take on a life of its own. Old friends reconnect, new friendships are made, corks get pulled, and the evening stretches on longer than anyone planned.

Somehow the table keeps growing, the bottles all have a story, and there’s always room for one more seat.

These are the nights we chase🍷

We shared some of our favorite bottles from a recent trip to Santa Barbara County with our wine club, highlighting how geography, climate, and terroir come together to create truly special wines.

The Santa Ynez Valley is uniquely positioned on an east–west axis, funneling cool ocean air and fog straight from the Pacific. This allows cool-climate varietals like Chardonnay and Pinot Noir to shine in the western reaches, while warmer eastern sites are ideal for expressive Rhône varietals.

A perfect reminder of how place shapes the glass.

Wines poured:
• 2021 Tercero The Outlier
• 2023 Diatom Chardonnay
• 2022 Brewer-Clifton Machado Chardonnay
• 2022 Liquid Farm White Hill
• 2023 Ken Brown Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir
• 2022 Sanford Sta. Rita Hills Pinot Noir
• 1991 Lane Tanner Sanford & Benedict Vineyard Pinot Noir
• 2022 Dragonette Cellars Stolpman Vineyard Syrah
• 2022 Terre et Sang Son Soleil Syrah

Aerators and wine charms need not apply. Comment ‘gift guide’ and I’ll DM you the 🔗 to my full substack article with even more recs, details, and inspo!

Every year I get asked for gift ideas for the wine lover in your life. And while yes, I am a wine-focused creator, allow me to let you in on a little secret: people who love wine usually care about more than just what’s in their glass. They travel. They cook. They host. They cozy up. They obsess over gear. They attempt to be outdoorsy. They read. They enjoy life with the same enthusiasm they bring to opening a great bottle.
So this year’s guide reflects that. These are the products I personally own, use, abuse, gift, and have tested for at least a year (and in many cases, much longer). No filler, no “must-haves” that I’ve only ever seen in an Instagram ad. These are the real deal.

So comment ‘gift guide’ for the full list and get shopping! **and don’t forget to subscribe to my substack — it’s free!

3 years in and this is all I need… 🤍
Mountains of cheese on homemade bolognese pasta, carrot cake from scratch and good wine over hand-held dinner conversation. Happy anniversary @chefblakewayne, thank you for holding space for all of me and entering each day with love and understanding. I love you 🤍🤍🤍

When it comes to wine gifts, there’s more than a lot of crap out there that isn’t worth buying. Also, us wine geeks are notoriously finicky and hard to shop for. Which is why I curate a list of interesting, quality, and sometimes unexpected gifts that will satisfy even the pickiest wine connoisseur out there. Check it out at the link in bio or just go to Vinography.Com. #giftguide #gifts #winegifts #holidaygifting #holidaygifts #productreviews #notasponsoredpost #classygifts #vinography #instawine #winestagram

Château Pichon Longueville Baron, a Second Growth from Bordeaux’s esteemed 1855 Classification, boasts a rich history that began in the late 17th century. In 1840, Baron Joseph de Pichon Longueville divided his estate among his five children, with his two sons inheriting what became “Château Pichon Longueville Baron”, while his three daughters received the portion that became “Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande”. The estate’s vineyards, located on Pauillac’s prized gravel soils, lie next to the legendary Château Latour, sharing a terroir renowned for producing wines of exceptional depth and longevity. Universally acclaimed, Pichon Baron’s wines are celebrated for their bold structure, rich complexity, and remarkable aging potential, securing their place among the most eminent in the Pauillac commune. 2015 growing season was marked by warm, sunny weather with a particularly dry summer, allowing the grapes to ripen fully. Rain in late August and September refreshed the vines, ensuring balanced ripening, especially for Cabernet Sauvignon. These conditions produced wines with concentrated fruit, fine tannins and excellent aging potential. #vinsling #wine #bordeaux #winecellar #winelover #chateaupichonbaron
