A piece of my heart will always be offstage right, listening to you sing, and so excited to meet you.

I read the script for Mary Poppins the first day I got it, while doing My Fair Lady. The next day at a local shop, I saw three heart-shaped lockets. Well, it seemed a little meant to be. Before I even knew your names, I knew we were going to be great friends; is there anything like the magic of theatre to bring people together? Is there anything like MARY POPPINS to bring people joy and love and remind us how important it is to take care of one another?
My Banks kids: you showed up Day 1 not only ready to tell this story, but ready to be there for each other, cheer each other on, and make magic together. I got to watch you grow and play and create and bring this show to life in a way so unique to each of you. It was an honor being your nanny for a summer. Now the task is done, but your journeys as artists have just begun!

What to say about this dream come true summer?

I’ve talked everyone’s ear off about the full circle moment of this show, but I haven’t shared what I discovered. The last time I did this show, I was genuinely so full of self doubt. I didn’t know where I was going to college, most of my auditions were complete but I was still waiting to hear if I was good enough to get in. There were moments my senior year where I wondered if this was the last lead I’d play, if I would ever get a chance like this again. Good thing I wasn’t dramatic LOL! I feel like I was able to heal my 17 year old self and do this role knowing I’m capable of the career I dreamed of.

This team of brilliant actors has paved the way for beautiful friendships, hopeful future coworkers, and incredible workers in every capacity of the theatre. Thank you for your grace, your love, and your willingness to create such magic for families this summer. Till we meet again sweet Winifred💜
