As @violetpigeons mentioned earlier, we wanted to do an art colab on something related to Earth Science, so here is my version of a severe weather illustration! This is my first time doing something like this, and my very first time painting a tornado! Going all nerdy here since I’ve never formally introduced myself: I’m a researcher who loves understanding extreme weather! I deal with a lot of imposter syndrome, which is why I hesitate to call myself "an artist". I’ve never attended art school or taken any formal classes. Between coursework, research, publications, and life in grad school, there was barely any spare time. But I guess now, even as a full-time researcher, I'm finally able to manage my time and show up for myself. After finishing my PhD in Civil Engineering back in 2023, I’ve been using art as a way to heal. A lot happened during those years away from home. Thanks @violetpigeons for brainstorming ideas with me, and I’m so excited to finally see this come to life!
