Most beginners think a level change means getting low. It means getting low without giving anything away. Bend at the waist and your chin travels out ahead of your hands. That's the exact spot an uppercut is built for. In kickboxing it's a knee. Bend the knees instead. Spine stacked, chest up, eyes on his chest. Four to six inches is plenty. It's a squat, not a bow. Two things people miss. Your hands stay where they are when your body drops. And it's a beat, not a position — down and back up, with a punch coming out of it. Boxing: you get under the straight and your legs go into the body shot. Kickboxing: his guard follows you down. Body, body, upstairs. Comment DROP and I'll send you the drill. Private boxing, Muay Thai, MMA striking, and Jiu Jitsu in Woodbridge, VA. Serving Dumfries, Triangle, Quantico, and Northern Virginia. Faith. Discipline. Excellence.

7 things every beginner should know before their first boxing or kickboxing session. 🥊 Everyone starts somewhere. No one walks into the gym with perfect technique, endless confidence, or years of experience. Every skilled fighter was once a beginner who simply decided to show up. In this carousel, you’ll learn: ✔️ Why technique matters more than power. ✔️ Why consistency beats talent. ✔️ Why losing is part of the learning process. ✔️ How confidence is earned—not given. ✔️ Why walking through the door is the hardest step. Whether your goal is to learn boxing, kickboxing, improve your fitness, or build real self-defense skills, remember this: You don’t have to be great to start. You have to start to become great. “He who observes the wind will not sow, and he who regards the clouds will not reap.” — Ecclesiastes 11:4 (ESV) Don’t wait until you feel ready. Start today. 📍 Private Boxing & Kickboxing Coaching in Woodbridge, VA 🥊 Beginner-Friendly 💪 Real Technique 🛡️ Practical Self-Defense ⚡ One-on-One Coaching Save this post so you can come back to it before your first session. First off I would like to thank my Lord and Savior Jesus for allowing me to compete and keeping me strong in the lead up to this fight. I am grateful for Ashton stepping up to the plate after my original opponent had to pull out due to an unfortunate injury - I pray he heals. 3-0 ☝🏼✝️🏅 I also want to thank everyone who was involved in my camp especially my team over @kaizen_mma with every guy in the gym there pushing me to be a better fighter and holding me to a higher standard. I’d also like to thank @tasibjj for helping me with the camp and the continuous push to get 1% better. (1 Corinthians 9:24-27) I would also like to shout out @elevationfitnessdmv for the weight cut down to 163-165 and @athlete_blueprint for the rehydration. I’d also like to thank my coaches who consistently helped me prep for this fight and hold me accountable @liampanero @matrat_okidokes22 @jolavemma In addition to that I want to shout out my family, church, @eleministries and my wife @camii.mrodriguez ❤️ for daily support, prayers, and pushing me DM me “FIGHT” if you are interested in 1 on 1 training

Kingdom Commerce Collective by IMAGODEI CREATIVITY 5/30 I may be late posting, but this event was too impactful not to share about. What an incredible vision and mission God has placed on the hearts of these amazing women! 🙌🏾 This event blessed me in so many ways. My heart left so full after connecting with such powerful entrepreneurs and witnessing all that God is doing through each of them. If you missed this one, make sure you don’t miss the next! It was beautiful to see a space where believers could share more than just a business or brand, but also the love, purpose, and testimonies God placed in them to help draw His children back to Him. ✨ Take some time to support these incredible entrepreneurs, hear their stories, and sow into what God is building through them. Thank you, Imagodei Creativity 🤍

FOUNDATIONAL FRIDAYS ⚔️ The cross isn’t just another punch—it’s one of the foundational strikes. A sloppy cross can leave your chin open, throw off your balance, and actually take away from your power. A solid cross starts with the fundamentals: rotate the rear hip, push off the back foot, keep your chin tucked behind your shoulder, and bring that rear hand right back to guard. The basics might not look exciting, but they’re what make everything else work. The same goes for life—a strong foundation helps you stay steady when things get tough. “Therefore everyone who hears these words of Mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.” — Matthew 7:24 💬 What’s the hardest punch for you to learn correctly? ( comment down below ⬇️) ⚔️ Refined by Fire. Built Through Discipline. 📍 Woodbridge, VA & surrounding areas 📩 DM “COACHING” for 1-on-1 training #FoundationFridays #BoxingTechnique #BoxingTraining #CombatSports CovenantCombat
