Vipers Dream Team + Bondi to Manly Relay. Took out 4th place this year. Competition for the best relay race in Sydney has heated up 🔥
Short races are hard, that will do for awhile 😂

The defending champions tag always comes with a little extra pressure.

We gave @bonditomanlyultra relay a red-hot crack but narrowly missed the podium in a stacked men's race, with less than 10 minutes separating the top four teams.

First time wearing the Vipers captain's armband, and as always, the support out on course was unreal.

The plan for leg four was simple: run hard, stay in control, and leave the watch alone. In the middle-of-the-day heat, execution mattered more than chasing a number.

On paper, the short, sharp and punchy nature of the course doesn't really suit my diesel-engine strengths, but I felt like I ran it well and got the most out of myself on the day.

The time ended up a touch slower than I'd hoped, but the effort and execution were right where they needed to be.

Coming into this with a few lingering niggles from Lonely Mountain, it was good to quiet some of the mental noise, trust the body again, and remind myself what racing hard feels like.

This is what community looks like 💙

Saturday was World Mental Health Day, and we spent it moving, dancing, running and connecting with the people around us. We’re so grateful to everyone who showed up, joined in, donated and supported one another.

Looking after our mental health doesn’t have to happen alone and today was a beautiful reminder of that.

If you or someone you know needs support, Lifeline is here 24/7 on 13 11 14.

Heroic effort from @vipers.rc over the weekend. Running 60 hours continuously to raise money for @lifelinenb. You’re still able to donate to the very important cause. Link in the comments.

This Saturday 10 October our Lifeline Connect team will be joining Vipers Run Club as part of Move for 60, a 60-hour continuous run raising funds for Lifeline Northern Beaches, Mosman to Kirribilli.

While the runners keep moving, our team will be there 8am-12pm offering free, confidential conversations and a listening ear.

You don't need to be in crisis to reach out. Whether your feeling stressed, overwhelmed, lonely or simply need someone to talk to, Lifeline Connect offers a safe, welcoming space to talk with a trained Lifeline supporter.

Turns out sticking to the plan, trusting the process, and being patient really does work.

My progression on the roads, particularly in the marathon, was remarkably linear and probably happened faster than I expected.

Going from 3:17 to 2:45, then 2:36 over a two-year period was beyond anything I imagined when I first laced up a pair of running shoes.

I entered the trail world with a fair bit of false confidence and naivety, assuming similar progress would come just as naturally.....It didn't, and has been a much more of a puzzle to solve.

This race at @lonelymountainultra felt like a genuine step forward. It wasn't a perfect performance, and I certainly didn't empty the tank or get absolutely everything out of myself from a time perspective.

But I raced the way I wanted to. I moved with quiet confidence, fuelled consistently, stayed composed, and genuinely enjoyed the experience.

Second place was a nice bonus, and it was pretty special to share the podium with @a_bate after spending countless hours together on long runs over the past two years.

It's also become clear to me that steel sharpens steel. Having a group like @vipers.rc to train with makes all of this feel a little more achievable. Being surrounded by like-minded runners who love the process as much as the outcome is a huge advantage.

And having someone like @thelongrunau (Dave) in your corner doesn't hurt either. His ability to cut through the noise, keep things simple, and focus on sustainable progress has been invaluable... while helping me avoid disappearing completely into the rabbit hole of AI-powered self-coaching.

Looking forward to continuing the build towards @ultratrailkosciuszko.
