5,000 people 🌟 one awesome community 🤗

Thank you for believing that LEGO bricks can be made into fine jewelry 💎

One of the greatest gifts from my career has been the incredible people I’ve met along the way 🥰
You all know who you are 😉

To celebrate reaching 5,000 followers, my dear friend Dana @virginia_bricks created this beautiful LEGO mosaic for me and I’m still in awe 🥹
Thank you so very much Dana ❤️😘

Watching Dana build one piece at a time, reminds me of my own creative journey. Every brick, every detail and every hour I spend on creating something meaningful.
It’s so beautiful to watch her 😍

The eerie allure of a desert sunset has long inspired artists. How can you not be awestruck as a sun-bleached landscape transforms into an ocean of rich colors? @virginia_bricks captures the beauty of dying light in LEGO. As co-host of #MosaicsOnMonday Dana is well-versed in LEGO colors, most often in abstract geometric explorations. It's a joy to see her apply that skill to more representational work based on the natural world.

Lil' G just can't get the hang of his Rubix Cube, Mini M (@brick_beat) and Dana (@virginia_bricks) have already finished theirs - and I don't think Mini M wants to give me his!
.
Thank you to the awesome and very addictive @nauknauk.io app for generating this video (I added the speech bubbles).

Every Wednesday, myself, @brick_beat and @virginia_bricks host #SigfigScene. A simple idea that is a lot of fun. Pop your Sigfig (a LEGO you) inside a brick-built scene, take a photo and share it on social media using #SigfigScene. Collaborate with @sigfigscene and tag the hosts.
.
🔹1) Always have your Sigfig to hand. It may sound obvious but having to root around for the star of the show is time consuming and a pain, not to mention giving up and not joining in because you can't find it.
🔹2) A set/MOC of any size will work, you don't have to have a massive LEGO set to join in. A small corner or wall will often be enough to get in close and capture a simple story.
🔹3) Lighting, it's a pain for everyone. Having a decent light source doesn't necessarily make or break a scene but it helps to get it just right. Spending that little longer finding the right light source will help highlight your Sigfig and capture smaller details clearly.
🔹4) Create a short story. I've found that creating something that wouldn't happen to myself, something whacky, fun and silly. You can also portray messages in your scenes, raising awareness for Mental Health, disabilities and other important real-life situations. Keeping it short and sweet will help keep an audience, long winded 'essays' will deter most.
🔹5) Change it up. Having an array of different torsos, legs, heads and accessories in your arsenal will enhance a scene and make it unique and memorable. If you're struggling to find the right face or outfit, go custom. @minifigsme have a vast catalogue of parts and prints, they'll also design you a custom face.
🔹6) Photo editing. After you've captured your shoot, don't be afraid to play around with the brightness, contrast and so on. A little tweak here & there might bring out a certain detail or area previously hiding in the shadows. Slightly blurring the edges is my guilty pleasure, it draws focus ontoy Sigfig and what he's doing, rather than a random object in the background.
🔹7) HAVE FUN!

Get ready for a trip down memory lane with this Wednesday's themed #SigfigScene! The theme is Childhood, yours in particular, what did you play with, what hair-do did you have and what hideous outfit were you force to wear? Recreate your Sigfig as a younger you and share your scene this coming Wednesday, 7th February.
.
The usual guidelines apply, tag @thebrickpost @brick_beat @virginia_bricks, use #SigfigScene, collaborate with @sigfigscene and write a short caption about the scene. Remember, HAVE FUN!
