Lo sapevi che a meno di mezz’ora da Bruxelles puoi visitare una città che sembra uscita da una fiaba? 😍

Si chiama Gent, o Gand, e puoi raggiungerla comodamente in treno o bus da Bruxelles in circa 30 minuti, senza cambi! 🚆

Ma la cosa più incredibile è quello che trovi nel suo centro storico…

Il Castello dei Conti, una vera fortezza medievale circondata dall’acqua, con torri, mura imponenti e un fossato che sembra uscito da un film! 🏰

Costruito nel XII secolo, oggi puoi visitarlo anche all’interno e salire sulle sue mura per ammirare la città dall’alto.

E non è finita qui: tra canali, ponti e palazzi medievali, Gand è una tappa perfetta da aggiungere al tuo viaggio in Belgio! ✨

Welcome to Brussels Belgium🇧🇪

And the Atomium.

The Atomium is a monument in the Heysel Park in the north of Brussels. It was completed in 1958 as part of Expo 58. The structure is a steel construction that consists of nine spheres, each with a diameter of 18 meters. The spheres together form the cubic spatially centered crystal structure of iron, magnified 165 billion times.

BARKBOY — BRUSSELS (Belgium)

Barkboy gets the essentials right: expressive coffee, warm hospitality and a space with real character.

My first visit didn’t quite reveal Barkboy at its best, so I held off on publishing. But there was enough in the coffee, the space and the concept to make me curious enough to return — and this time, everything fell into place.

This time, we arrived during the final stretch of the day — always a revealing moment in a coffee bar. Where service elsewhere can already feel half-finished, the team at Barkboy did the opposite: warm, attentive and still fully switched on.

I went for the batch brew, made with Buku Abel, a natural Ethiopian coffee from Guji, roasted by Parlor Coffee Roasters. Parlor lists it with notes of blueberry jam, violet, black tea and black grape.

What landed in the cup was much better than I expected from a late-day batch brew. Sweet, expressive and beautifully composed, with deep dark-fruit character, floral lift and enough structure to keep it clean. Quite simply, one of the best batch brews I’ve had in a long time.

We also tried the espresso tonic, served in Barkboy’s characteristic can-style glass — playful presentation, but still properly executed.

The room itself is compact, bright and easy-going, with white brick, warm wood and dark marble giving it a clear identity without feeling over-designed.

But what stood out most was the service.
The baristas were friendly, professional and genuinely present — exactly the kind of hospitality that can turn a good coffee stop into a place you want to return to.

Excellent batch brew. Great energy. Hospitality done right.

This time, Barkboy absolutely delivered.
