Persian Love Cake!

I tried Persian love cake for the first time this year, and absolutely loved it.

There’s also a romantic little tale behind its name.

The story goes that a Persian woman baked a cake filled with fragrant ingredients to win the heart of a prince.

Whether the tale is true or not, I think it’s rather sweet.

Traditionally made with ingredients such as cardamom, rosewater, almonds and pistachios, Persian Love Cake is known for its unique combination of floral, aromatic and gently spiced flavours.

And @garden_eats_ does it so beautifully.

It’s divine!

Last nights rain has given Penelope a low hanging fringe. The shearer is coming next week to give them all a new hair do before the weather warms up 😊

The Guide Dog Puppy Raiser Diaries 🦮 Day 423-425

Stirling’s first camping trip! 🏕️ 🐶

With Stirling leaving our care soon, my partner and I have been talking a lot about any last things we want to do with him. We’re pretty happy with our experience - we’ve done so much! From AQWA to the zoo, and even Disney on Ice! But one thing we kept coming back to was a camping trip, and so we finally booked a last minute one and I’m so glad we did.

We went down to Stringers Campground in Dwellingup which was a beautiful place right on the river and not too far of a drive. I think Stirling was a bit confused on why the car was so jam packed, but he was so excited when my family rocked up there too, I think it blew his mind that they just “happened” to be there too 🤣

We only stayed 2 nights but he had the absolute best time sniffing, exploring, splashing in the river, stealing our marshmallow sticks, and snuggling with us in the “human crate” aka the tent. He was such a good boy and was EXHAUSTED by the time we got home. I think he’ll definitely be recovering for the next few days!

Why would anyone do this for fun? Ask anyone who crossed the finish line at the Dwellingup 100 and Mighty Jarrah Trail Run 😄

Thank you to every rider, runner, volunteer and supporter who made the day so special, and to The Event Team for bringing it all together.

Feeling inspired? You don't have to race to ride these trails. Come explore the Munda Biddi with us, just 90 minutes from Perth.

Details below ⬇️ If you’ve got adventure loving kids, save this one! 🌿🚲

✨ Emu Trail + Munda Biddi
First stop was the @visitdwellingup Visitor Centre to get the lowdown on kid friendly trails — and they were so helpful! There are a few beginner friendly options, but we opted for the Emu Trail onto the Munda Biddi and back. About 7km of twisty turns, fun little downhills and plenty to keep the kids interested. BYO bikes or hire them from the Visitor Centre.

✨ Pump track + skate park
Right next to the Visitor Centre, so it’s an easy one to add on. There’s also a playground and toilets nearby. The tracks are colour coded by difficulty, from beginner through to more advanced options with jumps — perfect for big kids and kids at heart!

✨ Hotham Valley Railway 🚂
We didn’t jump on the train this time, but we timed our visit to see it pull into the historic station — definitely worth a look while you’re there.

✨ Trees Adventure Lane Poole 🌲
Just down the road, @treesadventurelanepoole is where you can tackle aerial obstacles and zip lines through the forest. There’s a junior course plus different levels for the bigger/braver adventurers, with courses reaching up to 25m high! We ALL had a blast, and even during the school holidays it wasn’t too busy.

📍 Dwellingup is around 1.5 hours from Perth or 45 minutes from Mandurah, making it such an easy day trip when you’re after a proper dose of adventure.

Save this for your next family adventure! 👇
