Did you know that was the front of the Sans Souci Palace? Yes!
In honor to the late Great King Henry Christophe, let’s value our heritage, our history, his legacy.

Almost a year ago, after giving birth to Courage, a beautiful woman contacted me through @ancestry and said we were cousins.⁣
⁣
That day, I found out that I was half-Haitian. It was a moment where my life shifted and I really haven’t come back from it.⁣
⁣
Since then, I have had a deep longing to put my feet on the ground in a country where (some) of my people come from. So many times the last year, I tried to get here. I didn’t want anything more.⁣
⁣
I had no intention of visiting any time soon although I deeply desired to AND the minute I surrendered the Lord said “go now!,” and a week ago I bought my ticket. ⁣
⁣
Against advice, against my own peace and with every reason to cancel, I didn’t and today, a dream 37 years in the making, came true.⁣
⁣
My bare feet have touched the ground of a country full of rich history. The salt water waves of the Caribbean have washed over my skin and I am so happy as the gentle breeze blows through my hair and the God confidence I have received making the decision to come is like no other. ⁣
⁣
I needed this. My soul needed this and I am in LOVE with Haiti 🇭🇹 ⁣
⁣
This was the biggest risk I’ve taken in 2020 and it’s reaping the sweetest rewards and it’s only Day 1.⁣
⁣
So happy to be “home” and with my family. 💕⁣
⁣
Have you ever been to Haiti? What do you love most about this country? ⁣
