SHOTOS IS BACK BABYYYYY

We have missed @shotojapaneselex so much since the fire that took out their restaurant. We were there about once a week. They’re currently operating out of a food truck so we can all get our Shoto fix until the new restaurant is up and running.

To my beautiful friend, ❤️ @ninaross11

Thank you for always checking on me, supporting my small business, and continuing to show up for me. Your friendship means more than you know. 🫶

Life took us in different directions for many years, but when we reconnected, it felt as if no time had passed at all. And you know what? I have no idea who you voted for, because it simply doesn’t matter when it comes to genuine friendship. We can have our own opinions and still love, respect, and support one another. ❤️

Thank you for being YOU, for supporting my little shop, ALWAYS loving on your city and for reminding me that some friendships are just meant to find their way back.

You’re simply the BEST, and I’m so thankful our paths crossed again! 🥰💕

Every strong tree starts with deep roots. 🌱

Happy Boss’s Day to Dr. Aalih Hussein, Founder and Executive Director of Resilient Roots Therapeutic Services! 💛

Aalih built this practice from a vision of healing that honors who people are and where they come from. Her work is rooted in culture, community and care, creating a space where clients feel seen, safe and understood, often for the very first time.

But being our boss is just one of the many roles she carries. She’s also a wife, a mom, a clinician, a mentor and a leader in her community, and she shows up for every one of them with the same love and intention. Somehow she makes it all look effortless, even though we know it takes so much heart.

As a leader, she brings that same care to our team. She listens with intention, leads with authenticity, and makes room for every one of us to grow. Her impact reaches far beyond our sessions into families and communities across North Carolina.

Aalih, thank you for planting the seeds that made Resilient Roots possible and for nurturing a team that’s proud to grow alongside you. Today we celebrate all of you. 🌿

🌳 5 Places That Feel Like a Hidden Forest 🌿

While this week has been a little warmer than our normal Octobers, we are finally creeping into fall weather. That means it’s time to get outside! ☀️

Here are some places in Winston-Salem and surrounding areas (all a quick and easy drive away!) that make you feel like you've escaped into a hidden forest.

1️⃣ Miller Park

This city park is centrally located in Winston-Salem and minutes from Stratford Road, but as soon as you walk the trails it feels miles from the busy city life.

📍 400 Leisure Ln, Winston-Salem

2️⃣ Boone's Cave Park

Located in nearby Lexington, this park mixes history and Yadkin River views. Be sure to check out the actual caves.

📍 3552 Boones Cave Rd, Lexington

3️⃣ Covington Memorial Park

The trails that lead around the park have great water views and take you into a nature oasis.

📍 7450 Church St, Rural Hall

4️⃣ Fourth of July Park

This park has so much to offer, including some serene trails that even have interactive features.

📍 702 W Mountain St, Kernersville

5️⃣ Divine Llama Vineyard

Known for its wine and llamas, this vineyard also has around 2 miles of trails. Don't miss their guided llama treks.

📍 4126 Divine Llama Ln, East Bend

Let us know in the comments which Triad spot feels a hidden forest to you! 💬
