Let him cook. Norman's own Chef Tyler Cole and his upcoming fall menu are featured in @805Living's October Where to Eat Now guide:

“Norman, the poolside restaurant and bar at Skyview Los Alamos hotel, is now under the direction of executive chef Tyler Cole (former chef de cuisine at Paso Robles’ Michelin-recognized @lespetitescanailles_). Revamped menus for daytime dining, dinner, weekend brunch, and bar bites feature seafood from Lompoc-based @hahafishco, baked goods from @backporchbakerycafe in San Luis Obispo, and Skyview’s own estate-grown wines. Look for Cole’s homemade pasta specials, brioche cradling a mélange of @mightycapmushrooms from Paso Robles, and a roasted sweet potato-pumpkin tart for dessert.”

Just a little taste of what's coming soon. Link in bio for the full dining guide.

We’re going back to where it all began!

After October’s literary detour to Iceland, Elverhøj Book Club is returning to Denmark and revisiting the very first book our club ever read, "The Year of Living Danishly," by Helen Russell. We loved it so much the first time, we thought it deserved another go—and a chance for our newer members to discover it!

Funny, insightful, and delightfully Danish, the book follows Russell as she trades London for rural Denmark and spends a year investigating a very important question: Why are the Danes so darn happy?

Why not join the conversation on November 5 and uncover the secret to Danish happiness!

Just a 5 minute walk separates dinner from a good night’s sleep in downtown Solvang. Start with dinner and cocktails at Coast Range Restaurant & Vaquero Bar, then stroll back to your room @themarlo.solvang. No car, no Uber, no problem.

It’s about more than just the wine in Santa Ynez Valley. 🤠

Santa Ynez Valley is an inland AVA just a short drive from Santa Barbara and the Pacific Coast Highway, and is one of my favorites for a wine-focused getaway. The environment and lack of legacy allows winemakers to grow varietals less common in other parts of California and get creative with what they make. A perfect combo for wine nerds.

But it’s not just the wine. The valley’s charming small towns (Santa Ynez, Los Alamos, and Los Olivos are my favorites) are reason to visit too. Most people never make it past Solvang but those who do will find laidback, western-y vibes. The food scene also hits far above its small town weight and there’s no shortage of great restaurants to try.

Previously on Coast Range… the ghosts were looking for a table. And this week… one of them found it the hard way.

Booths available nightly in Solvang.
