POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
What an enormous 12 days of adventure around California!

I was lucky enough to check off the @majesticmtnloop which is a trio of absolute dream national parks that are all within a few hours. The small towns between, the trails throughout and the WILDLIFE have led to many, many happy squeals πŸ»β›°οΈ

So what’s included?

β€’ Sequoia National Park @sequoiakingsnps - expect trees on trees on trees, and the legitimate biggest living thing on the planet (A TREE).
β€’ Kings Canyon National Park @sequoiakingsnps - phenomenal drive with INSANELY dramatic cliffs and scenic hiking.
β€’ Yosemite National Park @yosemitemadera / @yosemitenps - you must see this for yourself.

I’ll be pinching myself over this one for a LONG time to come. Always a pleasure @visitcalifornia ❀️

BUCKET LIST TRIP πŸŒ²πŸ“βœ¨

After Visalia won me over, I went deep into the Sequoia & Kings Canyon National Parks. I’ve outlined below a few tips about each location and the stops throughout, and have linked the reel with the @visitvisalia recommendations!

SEQUOIA NATIONAL PARK πŸŒ²πŸƒπŸŒΏ

β€’ Tunnel Rock: easy walk right by the road, perfect first photo
β€’ Hospital Rock: ancient pictographs + picnic area
β€’ Moro Rock Trail: over 350 steps, worth every single one for that view
β€’ Parker Group: wander in and get dwarfed by every tree around you
β€’ Tunnel Log: yep, you drive straight through a fallen giant!
β€’ Crescent Meadow: such a peaceful stroll, great picnic area too!
β€’ Sherman Tree Trail: short walk down to the biggest tree on Earth, bit of a climb on the way back up but WELL worth it.
β€’ Giant Forest Museum: quick stop to make sense of it all/merch!

KINGS CANYON NATIONAL PARK πŸͺ¨πŸŒ²πŸ₯Ήβ€οΈ

β€’ Grant Grove: arrive early to walk among the giants with no crowds
β€’ General Grant Tree: the second-biggest tree on the planet, also known as California’s Christmas tree! Found in Grant Grove.
β€’ The Fallen Monarch: walk right through the one that came down, also in Grant Grove.
β€’ Roaring River Falls: short walk, low effort but large pay off! Gorgeous!
β€’ Muir Rock: large flat granite slab, right beside the river. Beautiful spot to have a packed lunch!
β€’ Zumwalt Meadow: granite walls towering over the loop, with a wooden footbridge at the beginning & a gorgeous boardwalk overlooking the meadow.

And the drive out? Phenomenal. Half the magic is getting there, pull over and take in the view!

Do these national parks deserve a place on YOUR bucketlist?
