Last week I had the absolute pleasure of experiencing traditional Bayna at the @thebanyahouse.mn

It was hands down the most relaxing sauna session I’ve had in my life.

Low heat, lots of steam, aroma therapy, a big focus on feet, cold exposure, and venik treatment - the defining characteristic of Banya - where a bundle of birch leaves are used to move hot air around the skin creating an otherworldly sensory experience.

We ended the evening with a Slavic dinner around the table to cap off a perfect evening.

I can’t recommend this experience enough. Be sure to hit up Dan the Banya Man and pay a visit to the @thebanyahouse.mn

This drum circle was in tubac Az a few mins where I grew up. Holding the space for a interactive group icebreaker 4 day wellness retreat for @leddyjosh and friends who quickly became family.

The rest is history.

First retreat session in the books at the beautiful Tubac Ranch in Arizona. Sharing the practice of breathwork in such a peaceful, natural setting made it even more meaningful. I’m deeply grateful to @leddyjosh for inviting me and giving me the chance to hold space and breathe alongside so many incredible people.

As you might already know, I’ve been a regular sauna user for over 20 years.

If I’m sweatin’ solo, one of my favorite things is to read the @startribune

One February day in the sauna during 2021, I came across an article highlighting @cedarandstonesauna and the rare ice sauna they built. To say I was intrigued would be an understatement.

Fast forward to October 2021 — Melissa and I were visiting breweries in Asheville, NC when we randomly drove by a beautiful mobile sauna outside the Asheville @sauna_house . I realized it was Cedar and Stone, and decided we had to stop after a quick brewery visit.

That was the first of many gatherings between @justin_juntunen and I.

So, when I had the idea to continue the narrative of my book in the form of a YouTube channel/Podcast, I knew I had to have Justin as my first guest. Especially since he built one of the coolest saunas in the entire world. The floating sauna located at @pierbresort in the Duluth Harbor.

However, my producer @visportstalk_ and I were still finding our groove filming content in extreme heat, and extreme cold (thanks Duluth), so we didn’t quite get what we needed to execute our episode.

That meant we had to find another time to sauna and chat about pain. Twist my arm 😉 😅

The time came for our episode while I was up in Two Harbors for Sauna Days, hosted by sauna legend @glenn.auerbach at @larsmont_cottages

The team at @cedarandstonesauna built a beautiful sauna next door to Larsmont, only steps away from Lake Superior. So, we got up early on a Sunday morning to make good on what was supposed to be the first episode of Get Sweaty with Leddy.

I had the pleasure of spending the past weekend up in Two Harbors, MN for Sauna Days. Hosted by the one and only @glenn.auerbach

I’ve been to many brew fests, but this was my first sauna fest and it exceeded expectations.

I met so many great people. Spent more time in the sauna over a 3-day span than ever before. Enjoyed numerous plunges into mighty Lake Superior. Filmed an episode of Get Sweaty with Leddy. And I even got to speak on the topic of the ‘Sauna Boom on the Heels of the Craft Beer Boom.’

It was truly a one-of-a-kind weekend.

Special shoutout to @excelsior_saunas for getting me involved in such an amazing event, and for making badass saunas.

So many great things in the horizon.
