After three years (and becoming engaged!) I’m proud to announce that I have now officially graduated from @academyoflivetechnology_uk ( @boltonuni ) with a first class BA honours degree in Live Visual Design and Production! Thank you to all the friends, family and colleagues that made it both possible and a great experience! 🎓🍾

Proud to have completed my Live Visual Design and Production degree at @academyoflivetechnology_uk with a First-Class Honours! Photos are from my major project, where we created a custom version of CLUEDO as an interactive stage show. For the show I worked as the Visual System Designer alongside leading the weight and power calculations for the project. Thank you to everyone who has made my time at university amazing! Fantastic memories across the years (especially getting engaged to the amazing @jessie.watters ❤️)

These two never fail to surprise me. Third years JP and Josh are cooking up their biggest project yet... and trust me, they've done some big projects already! We've had huge support from @roevisual @hive_media_players @bluman_associates @avmatrix @techledltd as well as support from @disguise_one @avolitesltd @hive_media_players @troikatronix_isadora @notchvfx and @jacquelinepyle_abc and her team from TAIT.

For the @academyoflivetechnology “Hugs & Nugs night” I worked with @visual_memoree and @alexchun.technical to create a stage setup for the evening with members of the visuals society coming to lend a hand and learn too. I used ROE CB5 video wall and a Z6 processor to create a front panel for the DJ booth and worked closely with Alex to create a video and lighting setup that would work with the limited spare power that we had available. Josh and I worked together to create content and ran the show using Resolume in order to make adjustments and match BPM on the fly.

Last week I was managing an installation for @simonotstreets for @lightnightleeds . I ran interactive touch podiums, these were crafted by @taittowers and adapted to house @bareconductive boards for three different voice clips from people that the charity has previously helped. We also projected onto a nearby building with content created by @visual_memoree creating a 3D version of a 2D artwork created by one of the charities previous clients, I achieved this through using @troikatronix_isadora to run content changes at specific times throughout the evening and auto turn on and turn off the content. @universallive kindly provided a @panasonicvisual projector and lens for the project to help us achieve our specific requirements for projection. #interactive #interactiveart #electronics #maker

And another term comes to a close. Our project this term was to create an escape room that has an element of each section of our interactive modules: OSC, MIDI, countdown timers, a hint screen, hand tracking, radio transmission, arduinos controlling relays through multiple sensors and a variety of traditional interactive mediums with a soundscape to go alongside throughout. Our attendees were given 45 minutes to escape and managed to do so successfully with about 10 minutes to go, so a good success! #belongbackstage #academyoflivetechnology

Recently, for our project for our show control module last term, we undertook the challenge to create a virtual meta-verse (the dictionary definition not facebooks to clarify) for #vmc2023 . We used motion-tracking to warp the perspective of the user so that it appeared as if they were looking through a portal, with the users movements controlling the movements of the camera in the virtual world. #belongbackstage

And that marks the end of Lightwaves 2022! Kin uses microphones to encourage the community to come together and work with each other to earn a full light show. Particularly as a result of covid we feel people are afraid to talk with other members of the community and we want Kin to help change that. It has been amazing to see the impact that a single arrow ice can have on people! If you want to see our build in progress and some behind the scenes see the artworks page @discover_kin Many thanks to everyone who made this possible: @roevisual for providing the ROE strips and controllers, @bromptontech for the processor, @troikatronix_isadora and @backstageacad #belongbackstage
