That’s a wrap on the final event of the first round of the Connected Horizons programme. Huge thanks to the representatives from @ccadld, @ballinaartscentre, @tyroneguthriecentre and @samplestudios who generously gave their time for 1–1 clinics with artists today at the VAI offices in Dublin.

Thanks also to all the artists who have taken part — forging connections with peers and organisations across the island.

Keep an eye out for the next round, featuring artists and organisations from Antrim, Kilkenny, Clare, Leitrim and Laois — coming soon.

Today saw the final Belfast Peer Support session take place. Supported by Belfast City Council, this programme was aimed at supporting artists who work from home and in rural areas to come together in Belfast - across a series of events over four months.

We heard several attendees share ideas and works in progress to the group - this was followed by an informal walk around just a few of the arts spaces in the city. Many thanks to @arcadestudiosbelfast @bx_gallery and @pssquaredbelfast for their time today.

As well as the spaces mentioned above - a word of thanks to all the spaces that welcomed the groups to their spaces over the past few months - @themacbelfast
@goldenthread_gallery @catalystarts @flaxartstudios (threshold) and @ulsterpresents - to @sharonkellyartist for the wonderful artist talks, @cecelia_ac for her curatorial presentation and one to one clinics, to @belfastcitycouncil for their support in the programme and lastly to all the artists that took part!

This afternoon we welcomed group two into the office on Royal Avenue for the second session of our Peer Support Programme kindly supported by @belfastcitycouncil.

We began with a presentation from the curator Cecelia Graham - discussing her artist led and sustainability driven curatorial practice. This was followed by some one-one clinics with Cecelia for attendees. Many thanks again to @cecelia_ac for her engaging talk and time given to the group.

We rounded the afternoon off by having a tour of the new @goldenthread_gallery space on Queen Street. Many thanks to @maryhtstevens and @jenlalexander for giving the group an insight into the workings of the new gallery space in the heart of Belfast.

Today saw the second group take part in their first session in the Belfast Peer Support Programme supported by Belfast City Council.

The group heard from the artist Sharon Kelly; discussing her practice and sharing her experiences. We then had show and tell presentations from some of our attendees.

We ended the afternoon with a visit to the Green Room in the Black Box where the artist @ayeenart (who is part of the group) has an exhibition running until the end of July.

Thanks once again to @sharonkellyartist for sharing her practice, to the show and tell presenters for opening up their work, to the staff at @theblackboxbelfast and to @belfastcitycouncil for their support of the programme.
