This is a snippet from session number 1 with one of my clients.
Between who you are and who you’re becoming, there is a jungle and you don’t walk through it carrying everything. Some parts of you were only meant to get you this far. The beliefs that once protected you and the habits that helped you survive at some point, they become too heavy to carry.
Growth comes with grief. Every version of you that you leave behind deserves to be acknowledged, because it once did its best to keep you alive. But if you keep holding on to what no longer serves you, you’ll never have both hands free to receive what’s waiting for you.
The journey is hard I won’t lie, it requires to go down paths most people ignore, but the trophy is worth it.
