~~I set my class up in blocks; i find it the easiest way to make sure I hit all planes of motion, all major muscle groups I want to focus on, and gives me the smoothest transitions - how do you like to do it?

This is how I set up my mat warmup block~~

1- LATERAL BREATHING, literally every time, it takes 15 seconds and every time I say breathe into your sides throughout class they know what I mean!!

2- light movement, I typically teach 6/7ams and know that some of us (me too) like to roll out of bed at the last possible minute, I like to ease into class so I can gradually build up your heart rate

3- light stretches, I like to include movement with my stretching to help build up to the next movement (ex. Threading the needle in your lunge to a side plank)

4- side plank/lying work! I always give the option to drop down to the forearms in this section and will switch up the exact movements we do depending on what we are working on in class and what I want warmed up, in this class we did a side plank crunch into floor taps, we had a core focused class with a biig emphasis on stability😍

5- 30 seconds to reset, after my warmup block, I give 25-30s for everyone to grab water, set up their props or stretch out anything else they might need, giving the class a moment to reset their minds and breathing for our first movement block

(I loved using the “—“ in my writing but now AI stole it and ruined it for all of us 😭😭)

Come teach an IG Joe Pilates move with me — still figruing out the right cues I like to use for these but I love being able to bring in some OG Joe moves to my more modern sculpt style class :))
