My optometrist took these pictures of my eyes yesterday showing how much my eye alignment has changed. The top photo is without any prism worn at all, the middle is wearing my current prism lenses, and the bottom is what my newest prescription will be. The change between the 3 is incredible.

When I was in the midst of my health issues and believing for a miracle, the word I continuously prayed was for alignment of my body systems. That whatever was off in my body causing me to feel the way I did would be brought back into alignment.

Alignment….

I never expected that word to be so relevant to my healing. It was just the way I chose to describe my prayer, but God has the best sense of humour and brought exactly that. My eyes coming into alignment has brought significant changes to the way I feel on a daily basis. Significant resolution to symptoms I struggled with for years. My eye misalignment also always made me feel self-conscious when I would see photos of myself or people would ask about it, which makes these changes feel even better.

Sometimes our miracles take time. And often they don’t come about in the way we expect them to. But never stop believing they can happen.

Thankful that Dr. Antonyan @vividvisionsoptometry was brought into my path. He’s a magician when it comes to eye misalignment and the leap of faith I took to fly and receive care here in California has truly changed my life.

How it started vs how it’s going…

My eye tracking before I got my prisms was wild. So chaotic due to my nystagmus, misalignment and suppression issues that having undiagnosed BVD had caused.

I didn’t know what to expect when I started this journey or if my eyes were even able to be saved at this point. But I found an optometrist willing to try, and after all I had already been through and tried, I couldn’t not give it a shot.

I had no way of knowing how bad my eyes were or how much they were contributing to all the symptoms I was experiencing. After almost 2 years of wearing prisms and progressively increasing my prescription to where it needs to be, my eyes have gotten stronger and gained more control, and my right eye is slowly “waking up” after years of my brain suppressing it. I never could have imagined how amazing this journey was going to be for me, and we’re not done yet! Thankful for @vividvisionsoptometry and that he wasn’t afraid to care for my crazy eyes.

Find out more about my journey and how I got here in my book, Through Her Eyes, available now! Link in bio! 📖

🐾👀👀🦮🦮😆🎥🐾 My human sees TWO of everything, including me! Are the convergence insufficiency and diplopia caused by too many blows to the head, oxygen deprivation incidents, anti-epileptic medications, history of brain surgeries, brain injuries, weak eye muscles, nerve damage, arachnoid cysts…?! We may never know but according to my human, seeing double of some things (like 😇😇) truly is, twice as nice!
🐾🩵💜🩸💙🐾 Video Description: Video shows a glittering image of a still MRI slide of a human brain. Superimposed on the MRI are sticker graphics of service dog Halo in various sit-stay and stand-stay positions with varied facial expressions of exuberance, curiousity, focus and joy. Action text scrolls throughout the video reading, “What g👀d do I see in my human having a dodgy brain? I’m so glad you asked! My human actually sees TWO of everything…Including me! The video concludes with double sticker graphics of service dog Halo each with its own halo action graphic insinuating Halo and her human experience double joy coinciding with double vision.

POV: Paperback copies of Through Her Eyes are now available on Amazon worldwide!!

I’m so excited to be taking Through Her Eyes to the next level and officially have paperback copies available for people to order from anywhere in the world!! This book means so much to me, and my only mission is to help others who are also struggling with symptoms of BVD know that they are not alone, their symptoms are real, and there IS help available!

Special shoutout to Dr. Antonyan @binocularvisionconsultant for providing the best care to myself and so many others struggling with BVD, and for the support he’s given to this project from writing an amazing foreword to sharing about the book any chance he gets! I couldn’t recommend any doctor more highly than Dr. Antonyan if you need help with your eyes. Follow @vividvisionsoptometry for a more in depth look at BVD and its many symptoms and nuances.

The book also continues to be available from me if you are local, and at Vivid Visions Optometry in Valencia, California!

Heb jij deze test al eens gedaan? 🍀

To say I’m grateful is an understatement. The care I’ve received from Dr. Antonyan, and the progress I’ve made in the last year and a half, is beyond anything I could have ever imagined. 🥹🙏🏻💙

Today showed even more proof that this was the path I needed to take. More progress than I ever thought possible. Proof that my eyes weren’t beyond help, they just needed the right doctor and the right plan, even if that took 29 and half years to find and requires flying many miles for each in person appointment. I wouldn’t change a thing.

Last summer, after sharing my journey with numerous people and being told repeatedly that I should write a book, I sat down with my computer and just started typing. To my surprise, it was so easy to just keep writing. Putting my experiences on paper felt so healing. But it didn’t feel right continuing with this project without having Dr. Antonyan be a part of it. He wrote an incredible foreword, and I’m so grateful he said yes to being a part of it.

It feels hard to thank someone who has literally changed your life. But I’ll never stop being grateful for this journey, and for the random search that led to me booking that first flight to LA a year and a half ago 🤍

**For those curious, the book is not ready yet! This is just the first unedited printed draft 😊 but soon! I promise!
