Tucked beneath the streets of Edinburgh—and hidden below Ralston’s new restaurant, Vinette—lies Vivien, an intimate cocktail bar inspired by the rebellious and inquisitive spirit of poet Renée Vivien.

Embodying her aesthetic principles of decadence and the creative independence of Paris’ Belle Époque, the design fully embraces its basement setting. Low lighting, candlelit tables, and rich, eclectic details create a space that feels quietly unconventional, moody, and escapist.
It’s elegant without feeling formal, and sophisticated without taking itself too seriously—a place designed to settle in, whether for a quick drink or an entire evening.

Headed up by Rebekah George, the bar programme promises an exceptional lineup of classic cocktails alongside inventive signature serves, complemented by wine and small bites.
A space rich in atmosphere, character, and just a little bit of mischief.

Meet The Claudia. 🤎

A shorter Dream Coat with a distinctly 90s feel. Slight more nipped in at the waist, collarless, with oversized covered buttons and little patch pockets. The kind of jacket we can picture Claudia Schiffer throwing on in Paris circa 1994, so naturally we named it after her.

Finished with our signature Mongolian fur cuffs, fully detachable. Wear them for full fabulousness, or unbutton for something more pared back.

Available in rich Cognac suede, super soft Black nappa and deep Bordeaux nappa. Fully lined, and made to order to your size and height, like every Dream Coat.

@vinette_edinburgh Parisian inspired restaurant that’s perfect for a special date night.

A really cosy atmosphere in here and loved the playlist in the background. We went for 3 courses and were definitely stuffed but glad we squeezed in dessert as it was really good.

I went for a vegetarian starter and main and can’t lie I preferred my boyfriend’s as the meat was cooked to perfection, but both were really good.

Definitely make sure you head to the bar downstairs afterwards too for a little late night cocktail by candlelight. @vivienedinburgh

It's Organic September, a month-long celebration of the benefits of organic food, farming and sustainable living. Edinburgh has long been a champion of organic food shops and restaurants, from @hendersonsvegan (now in Barclay St) to @urbanangel_cafe (Hanover Street) and a weekly @edfarmersmarket farmers' in Castle Terrace.

The much-loved @realfoods_uk, which has been selling natural foodstuffs for over 50 years, is directly below the spacious top floor 3-bed flat we currently have for sale in popular Broughton Street - very handy for all your organic cooking needs!

Unreal dinner in Edinburgh🍸 [ad-invite]

Vinette is a gorgeous Parisian inspired restaurant on Broughton Street in Edinburgh, and it’s definitely one to add to your list! @becca_jjack and I headed there recently and loved it!

The bread course here was absolutely unreal - warm, fresh bread with the saltiest butter 🤤! We started with the Baron Bogor crumpet & the poached pear, artichoke & walnut starter, which were both really light but packed with flavour!

I’d heard so much about the burger and it did not disappoint! The sirloin was cooked to absolute perfection and the chips were SO crispy!

Sadly, we didn’t have any room for dessert, but make sure you head downstairs for a cocktail at @vivienedinburgh . The Peach Please was so interesting, especially if you’re a fan of basil like me!
