It's been a hot minute since I've been able to end my work day while it was still light outside. The end of the granting year is always busy and chaotic but being a part of a kick ass team makes it easy and enjoyable. To the rest of my team - we're AWESOME!

Hummus is only good for 3 days after opening it, SO just make a decision for once in your life. Eat it or throw it out. Sometimes you can’t tell by looking at it that it’s gone bad so now I have a mouthful of bad hummus, and this is indicative of EVERYTHING WRONG IN OUR RELATIONSHIP.

Don’t you dare give up. There is so much joy in the world, and so many people willing to love you. All you need to do is give yourself permission to be found.

Seattle Sketchfest > Chicago Sketchfest > Denver Sketchfest, a whirlwind 16 days. I wish I took more pictures, I’m glad I told so many people that I love them

See you in the next city ❤️

Finally found my memory card! So, a wee bit of a belated thank you & love letter to @nlsketchfest and everyone who makes it possible and wonderful 🩵

If you talked to us at all over the past year, you know how much this Festival and everyone we’ve met getting to be a part of it means to us. Returning for a second year was a huge honour, and was once again easily a highlight of the year. The talent here is mind-blowing. The warmth and thoughtfulness are too. Thank you so very much to the entire NL Sketchfest team and to everyone who was a part of this beautiful time. Til we meet again, my friends! 🩵

Love,
The CFAs of Cheap Wine 🍷

Scenes from MONSTER ISLAND! 📸 by @aliciacarrick from our May 27 show. That last show was a banger and this week’s show has grown up under tremendous pressure from its banger parents to overachieve. Come check it out tomorrow (Wednesday) at 9:30 at @comedybarto!

Happy 20th Anniversary @asiansploitation

May 28th 2006 marked the debut of Asiansploitation's sketch comedy revue "Be Pacific". We were Toronto's first all Asian comedy troupe in a landscape which looked markedly different from how Toronto's BIPOC sketch/improv scene looks today.

I thought I'd mark the occasion by reflecting on then and now. Enjoy!

I had heard that @nlsketchfest was incredible, but to live it was an entirely different thing. I saw every single one of the close to 40 acts in the festival and I was blown away by the talent. The hospitality and generosity of the whole NL Sketchfest team and beyond, cannot be overstated. The warmth and pure joy of everyone coming together at the edge of the world to perform this little art form is something I won’t soon forget. Until next time, stay where you’re at ‘til I comes where you’re to ❤️

Go home out of it ‘cause @nlsketchfest is over! 36 sketch troupes put on 12 deadly shows at @rcaatlspuhall in six days plus an incredible social schedule for the Come From Aways.

Congrats to @andrewtremblett @danapudd @azaldosanjh @baileyfrancesjackson @lwrowe98 @lonnicrp and whole NL team for a massively successful third year. We have all downloaded the Sheerr Weather app and it will guide us forever.
