In 1482, the Duke of Milan decided to commemorate his father, Francesco Sforza, so he commissioned Leonardo da Vinci to create the largest ever bronze statue of a horse. By the time da Vinci was ready to cast the statue a decade later, the Duke had been forced to use the accumulated bronze to make cannons to defend Milan against the French. Over 500 years later, two full-sized bronze casts of Leonardo's horse were finally completed. One stands in Milan, where it was originally intended, and the other stands in . . . . Grand Rapids, Michigan?

It was forty years ago today… Hard to summarize. Hard to pick a picture. The wedding? Yesterday? Somewhere in between?

It’s been a Beatle song mash: I saw her standing there, something in the way she walked, my heart went boom, I wanted to hold her hand, she said yeah, yeah, yeah, Helter Skelter, and now we Let it Be!

Raise a glass with us to the love the lasts forever!

I think I might have guessed that a baby rhino would be cute. But a baby rhino standing in her food bowl? I wasn't ready for that.
