POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

Somewhere between the edge of the earth and the end of the day. 🌊

Golden light, ocean air, a little motion blur, and two people completely in their own world.

Engagement photos in La Jolla, California photographed with a cinematic, nostalgic approach inspired by film and the feeling of remembering a moment rather than simply documenting it.

Everybody wanted to know what she would do if she didn’t win... I guess we’ll never know

Proud is an understatement. 👏🎓

The KPSA/CSUF Class of 2026 has officially completed an incredible milestone in their DNP journey: project dissemination.

This cohort shared their scholarship across multiple local, regional, and national venues, including:
✨ Western Summit for Nurse Anesthesiology
✨ KPSA Dissemination Day
✨ KPNAA Winter Conference
✨ APU Nursing Research Symposium
✨ CSUF HHD Student Research Showcase
✨ Western Institute of Nursing (WIN)
✨ AORN Global Surgical Conference & Expo
✨ Iowa Healthcare National Evidence-Based Practice Conference

And along the way, their work was recognized for excellence, earning two awards in the Community Category at the APU Nursing Research Symposium 🏆🏆 and a Poster Award at the Iowa Healthcare National Evidence-Based Practice Conference 🏅

Dissemination is more than presenting a project—it is about translating evidence into practice, improving outcomes, and contributing to the future of healthcare and nurse anesthesiology.

Watching our SRNAs present podiums and posters, engage in scholarly dialogue, and represent our program with professionalism has been incredibly rewarding. Behind every presentation were countless hours of literature review, implementation, revisions, and perseverance.

To the Class of 2026: thank you for your dedication, resilience, and commitment to excellence. Your work matters, and your impact is already being felt. We are incredibly proud of you and excited for what comes next. 💙🩺📚

This week’s Sunday Spotlight is Vivien Schultz from KPSA class of 2026!

Before anesthesia school, Vivien worked in the cardiac ICU in Chicago for two years and the SICU at Cedars Sinai for two years.

Vivien first became interested in anesthesia when she had surgery for a torn ACL. Before the procedure, she met a CRNA who made a huge impact on her care, and seeing firsthand how they played a critical role in patient care inspired her to explore the profession further.

Vivien shared with us how one of the most meaningful parts of her anesthesia training has been building trust with her patients during their most vulnerable moments. She tells us how amazing it is, “to see their fear turn into trust and knowing that I played a role in easing their anxiety…it’s been incredibly fulfilling.”😊

Vivien shared that one of the most important lessons she’s learned as an SRNA is the value of staying calm and adaptable…”anesthesia is unpredictable, and no matter how well you prepare, unexpected challenges can arise.”

In her free time, Vivien enjoys hiking, playing pickleball, going to the beach, and finding new food spots. She also cannot live without her Bengal cat, Suki!🐈

One fun fact about Vivien is that she played Division 1 soccer in college! ⚽️🥅

Go Vivien! 🙌🤩👏

I know it’s a late post but I hope being able to spend all day together made your birthday special, even if hours of it was in LA traffic. #happybirthday
