Let's talk about one of my favorite topics: Blood on the Dance Floor 🔥

According to Vincent Paterson, Michael Jackson's choreographer and co-director of the music video:

"I wanted to hold Mike back from dancing throughout some of the piece, like a lithe cheetah chained to his animal print chair. I wanted him to be enticed by the irresistible woman "Suzie" (Sybil Azur) dancing on the table in front of him. I envisioned a moment where Mike would grab Sybil's legs on the table ... She was thin and beautiful like him," and they worked very, very well together.

"I wanted to showcase Mike as a strong, dominant, sexy man-a Mike I felt had never been captured on film. I taught everyone a dance called the canyengue that I had learned in Argentina.

"My friend Ivan Dudynsky was an ex-dancer, turning his talents to editing and cinematography. He brought his Super-8 camera and shot some staggeringly hot footage, totally different from what Conrad [Hall] shot.

"Sony was only interested in using Connie Hall's footage, and we edited our MTV version from the film he had shot. They had no interest in what Ivan shot, so Ivan and I edited our own version. The result was that two complete videos now exist for "Blood on the Dance Floor." The official video sanctioned by Sony is stunning. Connie made the images on 35mm film look hand-painted at times. The "Blood on the Dance Floor-Alt Version and Remix" that I recorded with Ivan shows Mike in a way he has never been seen. Writer David Noh described the video as "grainy, overexposed, and sexy as shit." 🔥
