part 9 is dedicated to @vlyubish! i started following Vitya back in early 2024, when he decided to do a 30-day tiger drawing challenge. i came for the tigers, but there was absolutely no way i was leaving after that because besides being an incredibly charming person, Vitya is also an incredible artist and someone i genuinely look up to.

i think one of the things i admire most about him is something that goes beyond the drawings themselves. for me, being an artist has never really been about constantly posting new work or pushing yourself to the point of exhaustion (although Vitya’s challenges might suggest otherwise). it’s more about being able to feel, to think, to question things and to explain what’s going on inside your head.

i want to be the kind of artist who always has something to say. someone whose head is constantly full of ideas, who has that inner fire, that strong sense of self, something that keeps pushing you forward and makes you want to create in the first place.

and i think that’s exactly what i see in Vitya’s work. it’s not just about being good at drawing. it’s about having your own way of seeing the world and actually knowing what to do with it.

Vitya is definitely one of those artists who remind me of the kind of artist i want to become.

and on a slightly different note, one of his posters is finally on its way to me. i’ve been dreaming of adding his work to my collection for a while now, so this makes me ridiculously happy.
it’s a pretty special feeling to have a piece of art by someone who’s inspired you for so long :)

Vitya, you’re the greatest!!
