10.24 Sat | VOID 19 YEARS, NO COMPROMISE PROVODA COMES HOME In the summer of 2007, Jin Mao still ruled the Shanghai skyline, The Shelter had not yet opened, and a small bar called Logo on Xingfu Lu hosted the first VOID party. Six months later, VOID played the opening night at The Shelter. The former bomb shelter beneath 5 Yongfu Lu would become the crew’s home, its laboratory and one of the most important underground clubs China has ever produced. Nineteen years later, VOID is still here. And on Oct 24, one of the most important figures in its history is coming back. Russian DJ Ilya arrived in Shanghai in 2012 and joined VOID almost immediately. Already DJing since 2004, he did not arrive as a newcomer looking to attach himself to a scene. He arrived with his own history, his own records and a clear idea of what techno should do to a dance floor. Soon afterwards, Shanghai knew him as Provoda. His sets could be punishing, but they were never one-dimensional. Detroit techno, raw electro, acid, EBM, synth-wave and industrial machine rhythms were wired together with patience and technical control. He understood funk as well as force. He could open a room without wasting its energy, twist it into stranger territory or step into the peak-time slot and make The Shelter feel as though its concrete walls were moving inwards. There was always danger in a Provoda set. Not the empty danger of speed for its own sake, but the feeling that the next record might suddenly change the direction of the whole night. That made him a perfect VOID resident. 22:00-00:00 NAXIN 00:00-01:00 Shanghai Ultra (Live Hardware Set) 01:00-3:00 Provoda 3:00-Late Ma Haiping Early Bird 88 / Presale 108 / Door 128 / Double 188 Presale via WeChat official account: doopclubshanghai Free entry after 3am #techno #electro #machinefunk #voidshanghai

VOID SHANGHAI - 19 YEARS, NO COMPROMISE Since 2007, @voidshanghai has helped shape Shanghai’s underground electronic music culture, from the early nights at Logo, through a nine-year run at the legendary Shelter, to today, all with the same punk attitude. Nineteen years on, the mission remains unchanged: uncompromising techno, resident culture, independent music, and a dancefloor built on substance rather than hype. In 2012, @provoda606 joined VOID as a resident and became a defining part of the crew’s sound and story. After leaving Shanghai in 2019 and building a new base in Vietnam, he returns on October 24 for a special homecoming - VOID’s 19th anniversary. lineup: @mahaiping - Axis Records / Molecular Records @shanghai_ultra - VOID co-founder / live hardware @naxin_music - @vacuum_sh / @e_fruity__ 19 years underground. 19 years independent. VOID then. VOID now. VOID forever. Saturday, October 24, 2026 Doop Club, Shanghai #voidshanghai #Provoda #ShanghaiUltra #MaHaiping #Naxin

Last weekend, we teamed up with @voidshanghai , one of China’s longest-running techno event labels based in Shanghai, and traveled to Beijing together. On Saturday, we hosted a vinyl pop-up at VOID’s party at @pillbox_beijing . On Sunday, we held an E-fRUITY Recording session at @fruityshop_bj store, featuring VOID guest @filipxavi , one of China’s finest techno producers and a key member of VOID, @mahaiping , and Beijing-based founder of the once-legendary club @lanternclubbeijing and outstanding DJ @wengwengofficial . We also hosted a Detroit techno history session led by @naxin_music , a fast-rising new-generation producer and DJ. Many techno lovers came through — we shared great conversations and meaningful exchanges throughout.🖤 Such a beautiful time. We truly enjoyed every moment.🖤 Last Thursday, we recorded an interview with Filip Xavi at @fruityshop_sh store, diving deep into his musical journey. The video will be released soon — stay tuned! April 11th @voidshanghai Pres. LINEUP 22:00-23:30 NAXIN @naxin_music 23:30-01:00 Ma Haiping @mahaiping 01:00-03:00 Filip Xavi @filipxavi 03:00-late LIUYANG @liuyang0734
