Went by the theatre with G, to grab some tools and rando office stuff, before my furlough starts on Wednesday. It’s really weird that we haven’t had a show since March 12, and we don’t know when we will be able to re-open to the public. There is a lot to work out & much that hinges on factors we don’t control. Live Entertainment was one of the first industries to fully shut down and we some of the last to re-open, surely in a modified operational model. Even with all that scary unknown, I like to think we will survive this. Maybe not everyone in the jobs they were in when the stoppage started, and maybe some will move on to other things. But The Arts will survive. So thank you Colonial Theatre, for the last two years of crazy adventures. I will miss quiet nights with the ghosts and the high energy of an opening nights. Luckily I document a lot backstage, so I can share those photos while we are home. Stay safe and stay healthy! 💙💛⚡️ . . . . . #backatagelife #emersoncolonialtheatre #ambassadortheatregroup #darktheatre #onlyintermission #takingabreak #supportthearts

That moment your Mom sends you a photo of her wearing the ring you got her for Mother’s Day and you tell “Holy shit, it’s like looking at the future of my hands! WTF?!” 😂🤦‍♀️ . . . . . #backtothehandfuture #handsoffuturepast #stronggenes #mothersanddaughters #happymothersday #shortdigits

My Grey-o Grande is coming in strong! I have been growing out for my hair for almost 2 years and it’s going well (given my Alopecia). Bangs have grown out and I am hoping to have a solid 80’s Dave Mustaine mop by the time the stay at home orders are lifted here. His ginger mane is end game legendary 😍🤞🏼🤘🏼⚡️ . . . . . #growout #hairgoals #metalAF #gimmethatshag #puffyhairdontcare #herecomethegreyhairs #thisis43

Spent a little time at the theatre, grabbing some needed gear. I have missed being here more then I can convey. Those of us in the arts, like pretty much everyone else, are ready to get back to work, when it is safe to do so. Until then, some have joined up with companies making face masks, face shields, providing meals to those in need and raising funds for the most vulnerable. It’s great to see so much giving and care. I hope you are staying safe and staying healthy. Please stay home when you can and use non-PPE masks to help flatten the curve and keep others safe. Remember all those in in essential service positions and health care workers, who are right now some of the most vulnerable people working heavy hours to help others. If you can help others safely from home through volunteering and donations, please consider it. If you can’t, be kind to yourself and don’t feel you are not doing enough. We have come a long way but we have a long way to go. Sending you 🧡 during these surreal times 💋🤘🏼⚡️ . . . . . #backstagelife #darktheatre #sittingwaitingwishing #lifeinthetimeofcorona #dogood #helpeachother #weareinthistogether #emersoncolonialtheatre

With all the "happy trails" and show closing posts about Waitress the Musical the past few days, I can't help but have a heavy heart and smile all at the same time. . . . . . While I was never "officially" involved in the ART production of Waitress back in the summer of 2015, the entire cast and crew along with the show's structure gave me more than I think they ever knew at the time or have realized since. My father had passed away 3 months before 'The Diner' opened up. I was utterly lost and in pain. I was beyond fortunate to have close friends be supportive and present, but I'm a doer, and not knowing what to do with this change in my life made things even harder with processing, especially when I had too much time on my hands and was left overthinking, like on weekends. In a crazy series of events, one of my closest friends had gotten a gig on the crew of Waitress and was living with me at the time. Knowing I was struggling, he invited me to meet up with him on the weekends during his meal breaks and between runs. He began introducing me to the cast and crew, and I, began allowing myself to feel joy again. As something that could only be considered extremely "on brand" for a musical about a amazing, pie-baking, strong female characters, I began baking for the cast and crew. Everything from pies, to cookies, to muffins, you name it, I probably baked it during that run. Baking for them became the thing that got me through the first part of my grief. It gave me something to focus on and do as well as giving me a "soft place to land" while managing and adjusting to my new normal. Everyone was so kind and I am forever grateful to all who were there for me even if they weren't aware of it. So, thank you for sharing your gifts with the world and for letting me play a small part in your lives for a summer or so. It meant the world to me then and still to this day. Waitress will forever hold that place in my heart. ❤️ #whatbakingcando #sugarbutterflour #asoftplacetoland #bakedwithlove #asliceofheaven #happytrails #waitressthemusical #sheusedtobemine #themagicoftheatre #americanrepertorytheater #stagesofgrief #community #meanstheworldtome #thankyou #dontmesswithtess
