Well the first ever Vampire Yard Sale is done.
It started with a joke I made on Facebook and then after convincing a few people it turned into a reality very quickly. I was expecting a cozy little event as a start from being absent from this kind of stuff for a while. It slapped me in the face really hard just as quickly. People were already trying to get in at 6:45 when we didn't start until 8. As soon as it opened shoppers were coming in and after that people didn't stop coming in until maybe 10.
So long story short it was amazing.
Everyone had a good time. The bands were radical, vendors sold stuff, the bar made out pretty good , bands made almost a grand at the door for 5 bucks a ticket
Not bad for a joke made on social media.
Just want to thank Alyssa at Kick Butt for taking the chance, my bandmates for going along with my crazy ideas ,the bands for playing, our friends for making it out, and my vendor homies for stepping up to plate.
Will this happen again?
You bet your ass
❤️

35mm recap of the last week in the 78666. There are some clowns from the annual Glurpo Fest at @triplesixsocial, which almost became Hurricane Glurpo. A few shots from @duettstx on their final night of operation. Man what a great loss to the community. And finally some photos from @senzamaeso on the anniversary night. It was a rainy weekend but the music played on. Also as usual thanks Instagram for not allowing more than twenty tags and not pulling up other tags or in this case not allowing any at all.

Only one week until our second annual
#glurpofest !!

Hailing all clowns - Saturday April 4th, join us as the RingMaster @vonarndt13 ushers us through this clowny day! Along with fellow local clowns with a sideshow of scheduled events with @schitzothaklown
@count.honkula @theunethicalspectacle and more.

I’ll have a schedule of events next week.

We will be showing vintage home video of the actual Glurpo along with the underwater pigs and ballerina’s inside our event space all day on the screen provided by @texasarchive

A clown side show all day, a bouncy house provided by @eatindustry , a Photo Booth, live dj @traz_ion, a balloon artist serving up all the balloons your heart desires, a caricaturist, face painter, many many clowns…

Glurpo fest is a celebration of all things clowny, inspired by the infamous Glurpo the Clown, the underwater clown from the old Aquarena Springs underwater mermaid show!

Come enjoy clowns, or come be a clown yourself! We’ll have a costume contest and a talent show for you to show us your best clown self! Dress as the famous Glurpo, dress as your inner clown, or just come to enjoy the day!

Live music for the day will include carnivalesque Attic Ted @atticted, @bicuriousgeorge_tx , & @kitchen_knives_music

This is part of the San Marcos Studio Art Tour with @mothershipstudios.smtx - we are also hosting two artists inside the event space that you can check out - those artists are @max.rouch & @j_ensis
