Many people might not know this, but I also do commissioned work when it aligns with my ideas and artistic practice.

Here is a small selection from the past months.

If you are planning an event, exhibition, community gathering, performance, celebration, protest, or any space that holds room for (queer) connection, I would love to hear from you. I am currently filling my calendar for 2026.

Send me a message if you would like to collaborate.

Thanks to my friend @augustmaxchris for the idea of sharing some commissioned work every now and then!

The Vondelpaviljoen is a historic building located within Vondelpark, Amsterdam’s famous central park. Originally opened in 1874, the Vondelpaviljoen has had a variety of functions throughout its history and is one of the most iconic landmarks within the park.

Key Highlights:

1. Architecture: The building was designed by architect Willem Hamer Jr. in a neoclassical style. Its grand, stately appearance has made it a prominent feature in Vondelpark, with a spacious terrace overlooking the park’s greenery.
2. Original Purpose: The Vondelpaviljoen was initially built as a pavilion and café for park visitors. It provided a space where people could enjoy refreshments while taking in the natural beauty of the park, aligning with Vondelpark’s role as a place for relaxation and recreation.
3. Broadcasting History: In the 1970s, the building became home to the AVRO broadcasting company. It housed their television and radio studios for many years, marking a new chapter in its use as a media center.
4. VondelCS: More recently, the building was transformed into VondelCS, a cultural and media hub where creative professionals could collaborate. It hosted art exhibitions, media production studios, workshops, and other cultural events. VondelCS was known for blending media and art, offering spaces for content creation like podcasts and live broadcasting.
5. Current Status: As of the last few years, Vondelpaviljoen’s role as VondelCS has ended, and the building has been under new development for future purposes. It still retains its architectural charm and remains a popular spot within the park for tourists and locals alike.

Cultural Importance:

The Vondelpaviljoen has always been more than just a café or a media center; it is a symbol of Vondelpark’s integration of nature, culture, and community life. The building’s elegant design and history as a media hub make it an important cultural landmark in Amsterdam.

Wie zien we daar?🌞🌞
