[Secret Show | 090826]

In the spirit of the @edfringe we put on a free, secret show on Sunday evening at @sneakypetesclub - We played songs for the last time and songs for the first time, across two totally unique 10-song sets, and had a really fantastic time doing it.

We eschewed social media promotion for this show and instead relied on our newsletter, word of mouth and on the day flyering. While this was a bit of an experiment, it felt substantially more aligned with the Day Sleeper ethos and we were thrilled that it paid off.

Quietly. Slowly. On and On.

If you were there, thanks so much for coming down.

Thank God for Air Con.

We are home and ready to nap, but would like to quickly thank everyone who came out to see us play in Leeds, Manchester and London over the last few nights!

You made every second spent on the surface of the sun (aka a standard family room at any motorway Travelodge) well worth it ✌🏻

Thanks also to @theatticleeds @thecavpresents + @theeagleinn for having us. These are the cornerstones of music as far as we’re concerned.

Also to @jonnywoodheadmusic / @sol_edwards who worked magic on sound!

ALSO the incredible bands who shared the stage; @linesof_flight @bottlemoth @cherryseraph.wav @flyover_band_ + @kingcasiomusic

We’ll do it again soon, DS x

𝔼𝕃𝕊𝔼𝕎ℍ𝔼ℝ𝔼

We aspire to ultimately take Day Sleeper as "offline" as possible, away from a hyper-saturated digital landscape that bands like us don't really belong in. To that end, we present our new quarterly zine, created especially for our listeners. Featuring lyrics, behind-the-scenes stories, guest contributions, poetry, and more, in A5 format using recycled paper and with every copy hand signed by us.

This issue features Matthew Bakewell of @scarredlipband reflecting on one year of their debut album.

Individual copies and discounted year-long subscriptions are available now via our Bandcamp, along with the accompanying Elsewhere Soundtrack that will update and evolve with the release of each issue.

To our mailing list subscribers who have already gotten their orders in: thank you so much, we're very grateful.

See you there.

- DS
