part 2.

some years ago, in Haifa, while healing, dreaming,
and shedding layers I had grown so tired of carrying.
I found myself in a small, beautiful, fragile, and perfectly curated exhibition by an amazing artist and human being @mehashefa @laila.gallery_

soulful artists of this neighborhood, each of us in a different phase of our lives: newcomers meeting the later-comers, slowly weaving a fresh community. event by event, we began to recognize each other.

that day, I brought carefully picked vinyls and my tracks. for four hours, I played sounds and music, diverse, scattered, yet somehow in harmony.

It wasn’t just a playlist. I came with care,
with spontaneity, with intuition and yes,
some preparation too. a sheet of paper with minutes and seconds, which track should follow which.
And yet, I improvised most of the time.
It was alive. It was great.

from Cat Stevens to the Georgian band Kung Fu Junkie, from Nina Hagen to Alan Parsons Project, Jean-Luc Ponty, Koriki, Pink Floyd, Daniel Johnston, Talking Heads, Bob Dylan, Stan Getz, Charlie Byrd, DJ Gerrard, and so many others. I can’t give you the whole picture, it was for four hours, after all, but I’ve compressed it into seventeen minutes.

this is part 2. enjoy… 🎶
