Church camp changed more than just my week it changed my perspective. God showed me that so many of the things I run to for fulfillment will always leave me empty, but Jesus is the only one who truly satisfies. I learned what it looks like to stop relying on my own strength and instead trust the Holy Spirit to transform my heart from the inside out. Even in suffering, God is present, giving me peace and a purpose. More than anything, I left knowing that my identity isn’t found in what I do or what others think of me, but in being a child of God. This wasn’t just a camp experience but a deeper relationship with Jesus that will continue to grow and hopefully inspire others!

Jesus, you’re too good! Over this past week we dove into what it truly means to be thirsty. Which each and every one of us are thirsty for something. Whether that’s community, relationships, money, popularity, etc. We look to all to these things for satisfaction and a lot of times distraction. But a good portion of the time these desires only leave us hurt, unsatisfied, or even disappointed because it didn’t make us feel whole. We often hear that Jesus is the only One that can satisfy us, or fill this void that’s in all of us, whether we admit it or not; but what does that truly mean? In John 7:37-38, Jesus tells those who are with Him at this festival that whoever is thirsty, come to Him, drink, and they will have streams of living water flow within them. When we are thirsty for something we are overly desperate for whatever it is that we chase after, so we look for worldly things to quench this thirst. But Jesus reminds us that this thirst we have within ourselves points us back to the longing for Him that we were created to have; the void we have in ourselves forces us to find Him. He is the living water, so whoever drinks from Him will be thirsty no more and will have His Spirit dwell in them. The Spirit that dwells in those who accept Jesus are also accepting His glory and sufferings. But the Spirit is also what changes our perspective, our desires, and what we believe to be our purpose here on earth. So this is the question I left with for myself, what am I drinking to satisfy my internal desires? Is it the Word of God, the bread of life? Is it time with the creator of the Universe? Or, is it chasing after earthly wants to fill a void or distract myself?

I hope that this is an encouragement to all who need to hear. Go to Jesus, drink from Him, and I guarantee that void you’ve been looking to everything possible to fill, Jesus will overflow it. He will pour so much into you that your only other choice is to go and pour into those around you!

What. A. Week. 🩵🤸🏽‍♀️🤗

Year three was by far the best one, God was moving in SO many ways this week. So thankful to be apart of @battlecreekstudents and share this powerful week with all my best friends. Jesus, you always leave me in awe, already counting down the days till next year!😁

my first year @eagleskycamp !!! I am so blessed that i got to experience such a powerful and fun week with the people i love. It was so amazing to see God move in so many different ways in everyone this week. He never fails to show up and change lives. my cup is overflowing with Jesus’s love and i have never felt closer to him!! Thank you @battlecreekstudents for such a fun week!!

4th year at @eagleskycamp and the vast presence of God never changes. i’m so grateful to watch/experience the life change in myself and the people i love most. thank you @battlecreekstudents for yet another amazing week. Jesus showed up for me this week in ways i couldn’t have even imagined.
