my last summer with @ciymove was pretty incredible…

The Lord never ceases to reveal His goodness through His people—and it was on full display this summer. I have so much love for every student, leader, teammate, and friend I got to experience it with.

I’m forever humbled by what Jesus invited me into over the last two summers… and my prayer is that somehow, someway, people got a glimpse of Him through it all.

Thanks to everyone who made it unforgettable (especially all you crazy awesome students). LOVE YOU GUYS!

that’s a mic drop for MOVE 2026 🎤

This week Spencer goes off to camp and it’s been a tough go at it. Not for him but for us. This specific weekend is full of things we had planned for him and think he should be attending. Like a Forrest Frank concert we got as presents for Christmas or a lacrosse tournament.

Sadly, if it was up to his parents he probably wouldn’t be going to camp. It’s a perfect example of priority’s and what we think is best and how the world is an easy place to put so many things above. It’s easy for us to be like no, he made a commitment to his team. We bought a ticket for him and he has to go. He would love to do all of the things. If he was able to do all three, he would. He came to us and stepped up and put his foot down and told us he was going to camp. He can’t miss it. We have sat down and thought about all the things we are trying to instill in our kids and the things we do to help them in their future. One thing we have said since they were little is, “if our kids have their own relationship with God and they pursue Him on their own, then we are doing our job”. We have modeled it for as long as they have been around. Some days, months or years better than others. We preach it, we live it, until….

Until you’re hit with an exact situation like this and we would find all the excuses for him not to go and pursue Him and grow in his relationship with Him. So, we let Spencer take the lead and decide on what is the most important at this very time, in this specific part of his life and here we are sending him off to camp. If seeing a 12 year old boy be on fire for the Lord and make a big boy decision like this doesn’t set us on fire, I don’t know what will. Thankful for @valleyreallife and their steadfast commitment to kids. I have been blessed enough to see first hand how important the next generation is to them and it shows. It shows through 1,000 kids here in the Valley/Liberty Lake area spending a whole week dedicated to Jesus at one of the 3 camps they have. It shows by a 12 year old boy not wanting to miss a second of it. So, I pray fervently that he has the best week of his entire life.

Today was a special one for me. I got to watch two of our students from VRL graduate from Ozark. A place where I graduated from 16 years ago. A place that formed me in many ways. I had no idea what the next 16 years would hold but I knew God had used Ozark to prepare me for it.

Hannah and Parris likely don’t know either what the next 16 years will hold, but I’m confident God has used Ozark to prepare them for the journey too.

And they have helped pave the way for more students to pursue their ministry journey at Ozark. I’m excited for what God is doing!

The devil runs from the presence of God. He fears God because he knows he cannot overcome him. So Satan’s goal is to corrupt mere mortals like you and I. What the Devil doesn’t count on, is encountering someone who has such strong faith in God, that he can’t penetrate that armor. Our own armor will never be good enough to drive satan away. But make no mistake about it, Satan fears God and the people wearing God’s armor!
