💙🧩 April is Autism Awareness Month 🧩💙

Love is a CHOICE.

I have been tremendously blessed to have a husband who chooses us every single day. He chooses to love our children without hesitation. While I feel like it’s so easy to love Brinkley and Dax, autism can be absolutely exhausting.

We’ve watched the sunrise after a night we thought would never end. Somehow, his sleepy kiss always finds me as we crawl into bed. He never lets me drift off without hearing him whisper, “I love you,” no matter how defeated we feel.

The world can get so heavy, but in Seth’s heart, we’re worth it all. AUTISM is heavy, but Seth will shoulder whatever weight Dax needs help carrying with a smile on his face and compassion in his heart. That’s just who he is.

Every morning, Seth wakes up, no matter how short the previous night might have been, ready to take on whatever the day holds. He has a calming disposition that recenters Dax. He reads me well and steps in when I need a break. Through the hardest of hards and the lowest of lows, Seth remains steadfast and optimistic. He is ready to help, no matter the need. He has sacrificed so much to give us the life that we have. Yet, he never complains.

Seth, thank you for choosing to stay. Thank you for loving us so well. Thank you for giving Dax precious memories to cherish for the rest of his life. Thank you for being his stability during the moments he seems to be unraveling. Thank you for being a better husband and father than I ever dreamed was possible. Thank you for embodying the example Jesus gave. I’ll love you forever.

The ULTIMATE Study Guide

Check out the link in my bio to look at the ACE study guide produced by veteran CFI and DPE Seth Lake! i’ve been very impressed with it and even used it to pass a check ride recently. I’m excited to partner with Seth to promote the study guide as probably the most useful tool I’ve seen across all ratings ever.

The study guide goes beyond just prepping for a checkride, and actually makes the leap into the useful realm of documents that a operator really needs to have at their fingertips at all times. Whether an FAA interpretation or a handbook, it’s all included and constantly updated for your efficient usage.

A couple of years ago, Seth and I had the opportunity to take a quick anniversary trip to Arizona for a few days. We landed at the Grand Canyon airport and did a quick helicopter ride through, then jumped back in the plane and flew on to Sedona. It’s a beautiful area. Aviation provides a completely different perspective and definitely a unique experience.

This was another round of firsts for us! Bryan took me up for my first ride in a 1941 Stearman! It’s such an elegant, classy plane. Ben took Brink for her first flight in the Christen Eagle. That thing is FAST! We took off in formation and broke away, after a bit. Both are aerobatic planes, but offer unique experiences. Thank you for flying us around, guys!

BEN! It’s your birthday! We love you! For those of you who don’t know Ben, he’s been in our lives for several years, now. He is the best and one of Seth’s (all of ours, actually) closest friends. He was our first official employee at VSL. Ben, we wish you the best, birthday GIRL! 🤣🤣🤣🤷‍♀️😘 For real, though, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!! #happybirthday #birthday #cheers

Seth was a guest speaker at the TBMOPA flight safety conference and invited me to go with him. We flew out to Spokane, Washington and drove over to Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. He did a ForeFlight presentation and gave brief instruction, navigating through the program. We made some new connections and really enjoyed our time in Idaho! TBMOPA, thanks for the invite! It was a pleasure meeting everyone! If anyone has questions on ForeFlight, Seth may be able to help! #foreflight #tbmopa #flightsafety

Seth had checkrides to give in Pensacola, so we loaded up and joined him! You’ll never hear us complain about more time together…or in the air…or on the beach. Cloudy days mean beautiful flights! I never get tired of the view 😍 Dax just sits and enjoys the ride. Brink crocheted several more pieces to donate ❤️ #flying #flyingwithkids #flyingfamily #aviation #aviationlovers #lovetheclouds #intheclouds
