FLASHBACK TO 2017: WHERE IT ALL BEGAN ⏳💎

As we walk down memory lane toward our 10th Anniversary, we’re taking it back to where the magic started in 2017!

Look back at our very first Petersburg Kappa League orientation and leadership workshops. A handful of eager young men walked into a room, sat in those red chairs, and took a chance on a new program. We started with a simple promise: to mentor, guide, and equip the next generation of leaders in Greater Petersburg.

From those initial icebreakers and first service projects in 2017, a brotherhood was formed.

Fast forward to today: those same young men from our inaugural classes are now college graduates, active military members, corporate professionals, and community leaders. What started as a vision by the Petersburg (VA) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. has grown into a decade-long legacy of achievement.

Swipe through to see our humble beginnings! 📸

Comment below if you were there in 2017 or remember our very first events! 👇

🧡💙 PETERSBURG KAPPA LEAGUE STANDS WITH VIRGINIA STATE UNIVERSITY 💙🧡

During trying times, the strength of a community is revealed by how we show up for one another.

The Petersburg Kappa League extends our heartfelt thoughts, prayers, and unwavering support to the Virginia State University family—the students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents, and everyone impacted.

Many of our young men grow up seeing VSU as more than a university. It is part of our community, a place of opportunity, history, achievement, and hope. When our neighbors hurt, we hurt with them. When they need strength, we stand beside them.

To the entire Trojan family: you are surrounded by a community that cares about you. May you find comfort in one another, strength in unity, and healing in the days ahead.

Petersburg Kappa League stands with VSU.

🙏🏾 Prayers for healing.
❤️ Strength for the entire community.
🤝 Unity during these difficult days.

We are One. We are Strong. We stand together.

🔹 3 Years, 9 months, 4 days 6 hours and 41 mins…🔸
The time from when I arrived in August of 2022 till When I crossed the stage in May; has been nothing short of an extraordinary journey.

From Welcome Week to Homecomings, to SGA, to Crown HIM to the IT Dept, to NSBE. I have learned, worked, shared, and bled orange and blue. 🧡

Sleepless nights studying, long days of classes, the fun times and outings, birthdays, summer programs and internships to online and in person engagement.

I appreciate everyone who has helped me along the way with too many friends, family, teachers, and staff to name.

I thank God for this opportunity at an education and for the many blessings to come.

I thank God for my ancestors before me who paved the way.

I thank God for my parents and family who guided me along this path at every step.

I thank God for the opportunities that lie ahead of me post-graduation.

This isn’t the end of my educational journey but only the beginning of a lifetime to experience.

Hail State.

Planting seeds, spreading smiles 🌻💛
Loved collaborating with @vsunsbe by bringing sunflowers and a little joy into the children’s hands today. Watching them take their plants home meant everything.
