POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

What does it mean to make the invisible visible? And is that even possible?
We often say that art, science & technology allows us to see what lies beyond the limits of human perception: bioelectrical signals, the inner processes of plants, the movement of air, geological time, or the forms of communication of other species. But in reality, we never perceive these processes directly. What we create are ways of encountering them.
This idea lay at the heart of Rendering the Invisible by @splaces.studio, an exhibition that opened in the summer of 2026 at the MAC’N Museum in Tuscany.
The exhibition brought together an outdoor park of interactive sculptures and an indoor museum presentation exploring nature as an interface. Rather than presenting nature as an object of observation, the projects by @splaces.studio approached it as an active participant in the artistic system. Wind, the electrical signals of fish, the circadian rhythms of birds, the internal processes of wood, the movement of clouds, and real-time environmental data became integral components of the works, shaping their light, sound, and behavior.
For me, as the exhibition’s curator, this project was an attempt to shift the focus from technology as an instrument of control to technology as a form of mediation. The goal was not to make nature more comprehensible, but to create a space in which visitors could become aware of the limits of their own perception and encounter alternative ways of sensing, existing, and relating to the world.
Ultimately, Rendering the Invisible is not so much an exhibition about technology as it is an exhibition about attention — about the ways art can, rather than explain the world, recalibrate our relationship to it.

What does it mean to curate something invisible?
I’m happy to share an important milestone in my curatorial journey.
This July, together with SPLACES.STUDIO, we opened “Rendering the Invisible” — the studio’s first major institutional exhibition in Italy and the country’s first permanent park of art & science sculptures at MAC,N Museo located in Villa Renatico Martini in Tuscany.
Over the past months, I’ve had the privilege of curating this project alongside an incredible multidisciplinary team. The exhibition brings together ten projects, including six world premieres, developed through collaborations between artists, scientists, engineers, producers, and researchers.
The exhibition unfolds across two spaces.
Outside, visitors encounter a permanent sculpture park where works respond to the natural environment, or human presence, reveal geological memory or invisible signals of nature. Inside the museum, “Nature: An Interface” explores hidden systems of communication in nature — from plant roots and electric fish to extinct birds — through media installations and sculptures.
What makes this project especially meaningful to me is that it embodies the kind of curatorial practice I care about most: bringing together artistic imagination, scientific research, engineering, and public engagement to create new ways of sensing the world.
I want to express my gratitude to the founders of @splaces.studio — @psywhisper @ilyenkoks @bvaspb — for their trust, generosity, and shared vision;
to our producer @malosveta;
to all participating artists, scientists, engineers, including @sophiaosbanova @e.li.na.zazulia @k.v.e.f @ply_tone_music @boyacheek @sabir_park @lactoseintolerantgirl

triangulator ist Teil der Ausstellung (RE)NEW Part I

Watch our aftermovie from last year’s LIGHT ART EXHIBITION - and expect a whole new lineup of visual creators to take it over this summer.

⧗⧗⧗

The space of the Várpalota power plant in Hungary is not merely a backdrop, but memory itself - a collective imprint of the twentieth century’s grand promises, which the organizers have come not to erase, but to reinterpret.

But INOTA never repeats itself. The same spaces continuously take on new forms, shaped by artists arriving each year from across the globe to transform the power plant’s structures - relics of socialism standing as immovable sentinels within the landscape.

In the summer of 2026, the country’s most spectacular industrial visual and light art exhibition will open up again, already accessible ahead of the INOTA Festival, which unfolds alongside a program of musical performances between 27-30 August.

//

Ugyanazok a terek mindig másképp mutatják meg magukat, köszönhetően a minden évben újabb művészeknek, akik a világ számos pontjáról érkezve gondolják újra a szocializmusból itt maradt, a táj elmozdíthatatlan őrzőjeként ágaskodó erőmű struktúráit.
