22 days until graduation 🎓🧡 Alison turned hard work into real impact throughout her time at Pamplin. As a Marketing Management major, her journey is defined by leadership and growth, from serving as CMO of PRISM to contributing to the Dean’s Advisory Board of Students. Through internships with OTIS Elevators and Deloitte, Alison further developed her professional skill set and passion for the field, with guidance from Professor Wertalik helping shape her experience along the way. Meet our Alumni Spotlight: Katie Ramboyong From Virginia Tech to Under Armour, Katie is making an impact as a Talent Acquisition Coordinator in Baltimore, MD. In her role, she shares, “I support our recruiters and sourcers to schedule interviews for candidates across the brand… to ensure a positive candidate experience,” while also contributing to initiatives like the Rookie Program and HBCU Career Combine. Katie credits her success to “leadership, organization, and networking skills,” along with the real-world experience she gained at VT through extracurriculars, case studies, and leadership roles. She reflects, “I’m grateful that I took my time at VT seriously and took advantage of all the resources I had,” noting that building strong relationships, staying adaptable, and embracing discomfort have all been key in her transition to the workplace. For students interested in a similar path, Katie encourages you to stay open-minded and focus on progress over perfection: “The path never became clearer, but by breaking it down to smaller steps made me more confident that I was doing everything I could to get closer to my goal.” Katie graduated in 2025 with a degree in Marketing Management with a concentration in Digital Marketing Strategies and a minor in Leadership and Social Change. Join Katie next Friday, April 24 from 3-4pm in DDS 130 for Landing Your Dream Internship. This session will provide behind-the-scenes insight into what recruiters look for, how to prepare early, and how to confidently tell your story.
