Got this new 5.12a (on TR) on my 2nd go with an alternate beta from the intended crux sequence near the top. Really liked some of the movement on this, especially the big rock over into a massive Gaston.

This will be my next lead project. Will it be my 6th 5.12a on lead? Let me know if you think I’ve got it in me.

FINALLY!!! So incredibly thankful to the setters @vw_north (specifically Cynthia for setting this beauty and leaving it up so I could finish it). I have never had this many attempts on a lead route before and I was determined to finish it.

Finally, on my day flash go (13th attempt over MANY sessions), I finally clipped the chains on this 5.12a.

This is my 5th of the grade and took some mental strength to keep doing the big throw move on bad feet while on lead. But I persisted, through lots of falls, slips, whips, and screaming.

Now onto the next one (I’ve got two in mind that just went up).

This fancy Minimalist color won't be online. 👇🏽

Head to Vertical World this holiday season. The translucent blue will only be sold there this winter!

Vertical World - @vw_gyms - was awesome and wanted to stock their store with small business products that also would appeal to their customers: Climbers who Crush! Sound like you? Check out the Minimalist and head to Vertical World to climb.

The Minimalist is an unleveled edge to maximum muscle recruitment of your finger flexors. It was designed with Dr. Tyler Nelson, the GOAT when it comes to all things finger training and rehab. @c4hp

Use it to warm up, strength train, or rehab a finger injury. They're pocket sized so you can take them anywhere but rated to withstand up to 450 lbs.

Seattle bouldering league starts tomorrow!

What is it?

It’s an 8-week bouldering league at our Seattle gym. Work boulders all week for a chance to send on Thursday nights for points!

Do I need a team to join?

No, we will form teams week 1!

What if I can’t make it the first week?

Don’t worry if you can’t make it, come week 2 and we can find you a team.

If you are not a member, league does not cover the price of entry so make sure to grab a day pass, punch card, or membership!

🚨 CLIMBERS: TAKE ACTION FOR THE ROADLESS RULE

Washington’s wild places are worth protecting—and climbers have a voice in what happens to them.

The U.S. Forest Service has proposed rescinding the Roadless Rule, putting millions of acres of backcountry forest lands at risk of new roads and development.

Want to do something about it? Join us!

📝 Washington Climbers Coalition & @blackdiamond_seattle are hosting a postcard-writing night to help climbers speak up and submit comments to the U.S. Forest Service.

📅 September 17

🕕 6–8 PM

📍 Black Diamond Seattle @blackdiamond_seattle

We’ll have postcards, information, and everything you need to make your voice heard. Come write a few postcards, hang with fellow climbers, and help protect the wild places we love to climb in. Lite refreshments will be available.

No experience necessary. Just show up and write.

@pnwfcalliance PNW Forest Climate Alliance will be joining us to help answer any questions you might have around the Roadless Rule. We’re thankful and happy that they’ll be joining us! 🌲💚

👉 🔗 RSVP through the link in our bio.

Thanks for hanging with us at @vw_seattle’s Summer Slam 2026.

From competition day sends to DIY lanyards made from retired climbing ropes, it was great to be part of a community gathering at the West Coast’s oldest climbing gym. @patagoniaseattle was proud to support competitors with prizes and share ways to get involved with grassroots organizations through @patagonia Action Works.

Congrats to everyone who climbed! See you next year. 💙
