You should start finally seeing the ID. Buzz on the streets. (I got to drive it extensively – click on the link in my bio!) And when I say “finally,” the original concept vehicle was unveiled back in August 2017 (!), so the wait has been a long one for the modern revision of the iconic VW Bus or Type 2. I must say, I was rather smitten with this tall electric drink of water. Beyond the fun looks, it’s got all the usual EV positives, like quietness, quick acceleration, and a smooth overall vibe. But it’s also really practical, essentially an electric minivan. Range is north of 200 miles, so perfect for in-town family life. Some might be put off by a bit of sticker shock with the early examples, all 1 st Edition, 4Motion, and loaded to the gills for a price just north of $70,000. But less expensive variations will follow soon enough. One bummer: we don’t get the cargo version nor shorter wheelbase passenger van sold in Europe. At least right now. I suspect this cutie is going to be very popular in California coastal communities, with a connection to so many vintage Buses that became part of surf culture in the ‘60s and ‘70s. (Laguna Beach, Huntington Beach, Manhattan Beach, Malibu.) I think it’d be cool to see a driveway with one of these, and the modern revision of Beetle (RIP). Now THAT would be quite the statement! #vwidbuzz #idbuzz #volkswagenidbuzz #volkswagen #vw #vwtype2 #vwbus #familyride #familycar #electriccar #ev #bev #surfvan #southerncalifornia

THE NEXT LEVEL UP ⬆️ - Low-mileage, 2021 Miata rental from April during the Acura GP of LB was worthy of cementing on the Weblog. It's not a long read, but enough to put on the website for proper record keeping and to pay respect to these little weapons. I love a Miata and have enjoyed the hundreds (soon to be thousands) of miles logged with them.

This is a quick read and please share with any Miata enthusiast you know or someone currently seeking a fun weekend car. Make contact if interested in these rental Miata's or access to the Host (Central LA based). They have a top-tier fleet of cars with fair prices. I was recently able to share snaps with @therealzackklapman during his review of the new ND3. Him and @thesmokingtire have a nice, honest review on YouTube.

It's nice to see these cars get the respect they deserve and sales to match, as opposed to some other enthusiast cars that suffer a worse fate.
